Overview

IOGEAR's Wireless Bluetooth Mini Mouse delivers the convenience of a wireless mouse,with the robustness offered by Bluetooth technology. This class 2 Bluetooth mouse givesyou a strong signal ranging up to 66 feet. The small and portable design saves preciousspace in your mobile work area, and it is one less tangled wire in your laptop carryingcase.

The ergonomically contoured design and optical sensor offer comfortable use on mostsurfaces, without the need for a mouse pad. This mouse features 800 dpi resolution,meaning it offers twice the accuracy of typical mouse movement, which is ideal for graphicdesigning or any other type of computing where precision matters.

For added convenience, the Wireless Bluetooth Mini Mouse also features a power On/Offswitch to avoid battery drainage during travel, and a USB charger cable for convenientcharging through the USB port on laptops. This mouse is the ultimate tool for the roadwarrior of today.

BATTERY INSTALLATION1. Pull the battery cover release toward the direction as indicated in the drawing2. Insert the batteries (included in the package) into the battery compartment3. Put the cover back on.4. Make sure the power On/Off switch is at ON position. We do recommend that you charge the batteries for 10 hours before using the mouse.5. To charge the batteries, just plug the USB charger cable into the USB port on you computer, and the mouse, and leave it on.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Before you can use the IOGEAR Bluetooth mouse with your computer, you will first needto establish communication and then connect to it. The procedures below may be differentfor you, depending on the Bluetooth software you are using. If you need additional help,please consult the manual for your Bluetooth software.

Keep in mind that for the initial configuration, the Bluetooth mouse will not be func-tional and that you will need to use a different mouse.

In the example below, the Bluetooth software used was Widcomm stack version 1.4.2.1. Make sure your computer is Bluetooth-enabled and that it supports the Bluetooth HID

profile.2. Turn ON the mouse.3. Open your Bluetooth software (My Bluetooth Places, in our example)4. Press and hold the Connect button located under the mouse for approximately five (5)

seconds; this will set the mouse in discovery mode.5. Start the search for Bluetooth devices (Search for devices in range)

6. The IOGEAR Bluetooth MiniMouse should be listed asshown in the image. If themouse is not detected, repeatstep 4 and search for yourBluetooth mouse again.

7. Right-click the IOGEAR Bluetoothmouse and select “Pair Device.” Whenprompted to enter a pass key, enter“1234”. Your computer and mouseshould now be paired.

8. Next, right-click on the mouse icon andselect “Connect Device” and whenprompted to connect, click Yes.

9. You should now be able to use the IOGEAR Bluetooth Mini Mouse.

Once you have connected and paired your mouse with your Bluetooth-enabled computer,you don’t need to repeat this procedure. Even if you turn on/off the Bluetooth mouse orshut down your computer, the mouse will still connect to the computer when both devicesare turned on.

The instructions below apply to WindowsXP systems with Service Pack 2 installed.

1. Make sure that your computer isBluetooth-enabled and that theBluetooth icon shows on your traybar

2. Right-click on the Bluetooth icon andselect “Add a Bluetooth Device.”

3. Before proceeding with the BluetoothWizard, please do the following:

• Switch ON the Bluetooth mouse

• Press and hold the “connect” buttonunderneath the mouse for five (5)seconds and then release

• Click the checkbox “My device issetup and ready to be found” andthen click Next.

4. Your computer will scan forBluetooth devices in your area anddisplay all found devices. On thiswindow, you should see “BluetoothMouse” as shown below. Selectthe mouse and click Next tocontinue.

5. To pair with the Bluetooth mouse,select “Use the passkey found inthe documentation” and enter thePIN code “1234”. Upon clickingNext, Windows XP will pair with themouse and install the necessarydrivers for your mouse.

6. At this point, the IOGEAR Bluetoothmouse should be functional. Simplyclick Finish to close the Wizard.

MAC OS X (10.3.5 or later)Bluetooth support is built-in in MAC OS X. In the example below, we used MAC OS Xv10.3.5 to configure the IOGEAR Bluetooth Mini Mouse.

1. Make sure your computer is Bluetooth-enabled and that it supports the Bluetooth HIDprofile.

2. Turn ON the mouse.

3. Open SystemPreferences anddouble-click on theBluetooth icon.

4. Under the settings tab, make sure thatBluetooth is ON and that the box nextto Discoverable is checked.

5. Next, select the Devices tab and clickon Set Up New Device.

6. This will start the Bluetooth SetupAssistant. Click continue to proceed.

7. On the next window, select the Mouseoption and click Continue.

8. Turn ON the IOGEAR Bluetooth MiniMouse, then press and hold theConnect button located under themouse for approximately five (5)seconds.

9. Once the IOGEAR Bluetooth Mini Mouseis detected, it will be listed under thewindow below. Select the mouse andclick Continue.

10. Your computer will automatically pairwith the Bluetooth mouse. If promptedto enter a PIN code, please use “1234”.Upon successful connection, clickContinue.

11. You are done! Your Bluetooth mouseshould now be functional. To exit theBluetooth Setup Assistant, click Quit.

Once you have connected and paired yourmouse with your Bluetooth-enabledcomputer, you don’t need to repeat thisprocedure. Even if you turn on/off theBluetooth mouse or shut down yourcomputer, the mouse will still connect tothe computer when both devices are turnedon.

Operation

Please avoid using this mouse on glass, mirror and metal surfaces.

When traveling, it is advised that you turn the power On/Off switch to the OFF positionin order to save battery life.

When the mouse movements turn sluggish, it may be the time for you to recharge thebatteries. Just plug the USB charger cable into the USB port on your computer, and themouse, and leave it on for a few hours. You don’t need to turn off the power, and you canuse the mouse when it is charging the batteries. A completely depleted battery requires10 hours to charge.
