Congratulations to everyone who stood up and made their voices heard in City Hall and the Miami Beach Police Department! Miami Beach police of-ficers Frankly Forte and Eliut Hazzi have been terminated without pay after the MBPD internal affairs division con-cluded that they were, in fact, involved in police misconduct. The following is a statement released by

the Miami Beach Police Department on Monday, July 25th.

“Today, the City of Miami Beach Police Department initiated ter-mination proceedings for two officers, who were investigated by the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office (SAO) for their involvement in the arrest of Harold Strick-land on March 13, 2009 near Flamingo Park.

“Although the SAO investigation concluded that no crime could be proven in relation to the officers’ actions, serious questions were raised about their conduct during the incident. Based on the Department’s subsequent internal affairs investigation, the determination was made to proceed with termination of employment for Officer Frankly Forte and Officer Eliut Hazzi. Both officers have been relieved of duty without pay, effective immediately.

In a column I wrote two weeks ago, I discussed the story behind this case. To summarize: Harold Strickland was visiting Miami Beach on vacation and happened to be walking past Flamingo Park, while on the phone with his sister, late at night.

After spotting two men beating another man on the ground, he hung up and immediately dialed 911. As he informed the dispatcher of the situation, the officers noticed his presence, im-mediately demanded that he hang up, and eventually arrested him – all while screaming anti-gay epithets.

Because the officers sworn deposition testimony conflicts with the tape recording of Strickland’s 911 call, Strickland’s cell phone record, and the officers’ own arrest affidavits – all in-dicating that the officers lied in their report of the incident in order to cover-up their misconduct, the ACLU sued and settled a lawsuit for an undisclosed amount with the City.

However, that didn’t mean that the officers would immediately be terminated. That could only happen if the Miami Beach Po-lice Department discovered police misconduct in their investiga-tion.

But with most “internal affairs investigations”, which are mostly managed by fellow officers, there was no guarantee that these officers would receive their just desserts, and that our commu-nity would be safe from officers like Hazzie and Forte, who overstep their boundaries and terrorize and harass members of the LGBT community.

And this is where Miami Beach Commissioner Michael Gongora stepped into the picture.

“As the first and only gay commissioner, I felt it was my re-sponsibility to get involved in the city investigation of these two officers. I do not condone violence against any member of the community and was particularly troubled that the allegations involved city employees. I wanted to make sure the investiga-

tion was handled fairly and that we thoroughly investigated the allegations.”

And within only a couple of weeks, the officers found them-selves without a job!

In my phone conversation with Commissioner Gongora, he also stated, “I think this shows everyone in a position of power or authority that they are not above the law. I am never happy when someone faces termination, however, in this case, my opinion is that termination was the proper conclusion.”

And it looks like the ACLU of Florida couldn’t agree more.

“The ACLU of Florida is certainly satisfied to see measures be taken in response to what happned to Mr. Strickland,” says ACLU of Florida spokesperson Baylor Johnson. “When of-ficers violate public trust and engage in misconduct they need to be subject to consequences, and we hope that this sends a clear message to the officers in Miami Beach and across the state that these kinds of abuses will not be tolerated.”

But it is not over yet.

In the final part of the MBPD’s statement, they announced that the two officers will have an opportunity to respond to the intent to terminate in a private hearing scheduled for Monday, August 1st, after which the city will make its final decision.

Please stay tuned to my column for the final outcome of this situation. A huge thanks goes out to Commissioner Gongora, The ACLU, and Harold Strickland for taking this on. I would also like to commend MBPD Chief Carlos Noriega, the city manager, and Mayor Matti Bower for doing the right thing!

You often hear people say that sum-mer is low season in Miami and, therefore, it’s a slow time of the year. Well, not this year! This past week we celebrated the 4th Annual SummerFest 2011 with events and parties all over town. MOVA on Friday, followed by the SummerFest pool party at the Shore Club Hotel, Rafael Cal-

vente hitting the wheels of steel with a Brazilian twist at Score, lots of people heading to TWIST for a few late night cocktails, then a nice relaxing brunch at the Lords South Beach on Sunday, followed by a packed T-Dance and Ascension kick-off party at Palace. And if that wasn’t enough for you, Edison Farrow had the grand opening of his new House Sundays with a packed house. Slow summer my a$#!

On behalf of Pink Dollar Enterprises and Wire Magazine I want to extend my deepest thanks to ev-eryone who came out to support SummerFest this year to help raise funds for Task Force. I also want to thank all our sponsors and media partners for helping us make the weekend a great success. A special thanks goes to Chambord Vodka and Herradura Tequila for providing great cocktails during the parties, to At-lantic Broadband for their cable television advertis-ing support to help promote SummerFest 2011 on TV, to Hot Spots, Florida Agenda, and Mark for all their support as media sponsors, and to Tim Nardi and

the Shore Club Hotel for helping us make this year’s pool party bigger and better. Finally, I want to personally thank Michael, Dave, Lisa, and Richard at the Task Force - plus all their volunteers - for a great SummerFest 2011 collaboration.

Besides enjoying this week’s print photo album, make sure you stop by www.wireweekly.com and www.facebook.com/wiremagazine to see all the great photos from the weekend - including some hot pics from the Shore Club pool party. Also, stay tuned to Wire’s Facebook page for our Wired video of the pool party dancers, which will hit our Wire Media Group You-Tube channel this weekend – a must see!

Besides SummerFest, this past week I also got a chance to enjoy two other great summer events… one dining, one culture. That’s why I love living in Miami; I can party at the best places, dine at amazing restaurants, and en-joy a thrilling cultural performance – all in one week. Plus I get to share all of this with our readers, so you can also enjoy what our town has to offer.

My dining highlight of the week was another installment of the Brown Forman Dinner Series that includes Herradura Tequila and Whiskey dinners in some of Mi-ami’s best dining destinations. On Thursday, my assis-tant Jesse Spencer and I went to the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne Cantina Beach restaurant to enjoy a mouth-watering, three-course gourmet repast from Chef de Cuisine Andres Parlange’s Chiapas homeland in Mexico. I particularly enjoyed the duo of grilled lobster

and chicken in Oaxacan mole. The food was amazing, plus Tequilier Humberto Oviedo and Casa Herradura experts paired each course with carefully selected tequi-las from the restaurant’s stellar collection. The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of a very special barrel of tequila specially selected by the Ritz-Carlton Key Bis-cayne. The special Double Barrel Reposado of Tequila Herradura is a barrel that sells for $10,000, and will pro-vide approximately 240 customized bottles with phenom-enal tequila that we truly enjoyed tasting during dinner.

Tuesday night, I was blown away by opening night of Cirque Èloize iD at the Arsht Center for the Per-forming Arts. The show was fantastic, super upbeat, and full of smoking hot performers with amazing bodies who combined music and dance, with one of a kind cir-cus disciplines and powerful visual effects, on an incred-ible stage, that truly made my night. You have to check out this show!

Last, but not least, we have another delectable installment of our Wire Traveling Brunch this Sunday at Vida @ The Fontainebleau with free unlimited 42Be-low vodka cocktails. Check out the details at www.wireweekly.com/dining and join us for a delicious brunch at one of Miami’s most famous resorts.

PUBLISHERS’ CORNERKEEP THE PARTYING GOING. SUMMER IN MIAMI IS DEFINITELY NOT SLOW!

6 | wire magazine | wireweekly.com

This week and last week have probably been the busiest weeks ever for Thomas and I working on wire magazine. Why? For a couple of very good reasons: We have been working very hard on producing our second ever Pride collector’s edition of wire magazine – that we think you will really enjoy reading through. In

addition, we have also been working non-stop on the first ever official Gay Pride Pool Party, which Wire magazine will host on Saturday, April 17th at the hotel Victor with Finlandia Vodka and herradura Tequila as sponsors.

It really is hard to believe that a year has already gone by since we published the first ever Pride Collector’s Edition of Wire magazine, but that is definitely the case. Pride is once again taking place in miami Beach this Saturday and we hope that all our readers in miami and Fort lauderdale will have a chance to enjoy this week’s 2010 Pride Collector’s Edition. We couldn’t have gotten here without all your support, and the support of our advertisers, sponsors, and all the members of the Wire staff. Thanks very much to everyone for helping us make this possible!

We also hope that you will be able to participate in the Pride festivities on Saturday, plus many of the ancillary

events and parties taking place before and after Saturday’s parade, Expo, and day of fabulous live entertainment. That’s why we are including a comprehensive Pride Guide that you can use as your map of what to participate in, with the days and times to be there.

We also want to extend a warm Wire invitation and welcome you to join us for the first ever official Gay Pride Pool Party at the hotel Victor, 1144 ocean Drive. We decided to put together a unique event for you during this year’s Pride, courtesy of Wire magazine, to celebrate and have fun in the company of friends. The pool party will complement the Parade, Expo, and live entertainment on the main stages of Pride, and will give everyone an opportunity for some additional fun at the poolside party taking place from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. this Saturday. DJs charlmix and miik will be spinning, while everyone enjoys their 2 complimentary Finlandia vodka cocktails included with their ticket purchase.

make sure to stop by our Wire magazine booth to pick up your copy of this week’s special issue of Wire and enter our contest, but definitely stop by and visit us in person at the hotel Victor to celebrate Pride during the day with us at the pool party. We will be camping out at the Victor to bring you some additional fun in the sun. Wire also wants to welcome

our pool party VIP ticket holders. Thanks for purchasing all the VIP tickets we had available (VIP is SOLD OUT). The hotel Victor pool deck will be a great place for our VIP ticket holders to hang out from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and view the Pride Parade from above.

To join us for the pool party after the VIP Parade viewing, visit www.thepinkdollar.com/pridepp to purchase your tickets at the pre-event price, or stop by the hotel Victor on Saturday and buy your ticket at the door. You will receive 2 complimentary Finlandia vodka cocktails, plus be able to partake in an official Pride event that Wire magazine has worked very hard to put together for you. Oh, and did you hear? Some Papi underwear models will be at the pool party wearing their latest collections?

have a wonderful week, and feel free to stop us on the streets of miami, the Beaches, and Fort Lauderdale to share your thoughts and ideas with Wire magazine. We welcome your feedback and suggestions to continue providing great lifestyle content for our readers.

WIRE FEATURE: MOVA: THE LATEST EVOLUTION IN NIGHTLIFE

I remember the months leading to the opening of HALO. The community was aflutter with talk of a new seven-day-a-week gay bar that would raise the bar in terms of luxury, cocktails, and service at a gay bar. A few years later, owner Babak Movahedi had the op-portunity to become the sole owner, allowing him to take his vision to the next level; hence, Halo changing its name to MOVA.

Since becoming MOVA, we have seen a major evolution in the brand, the service, and the quality of the cocktails. Like HALO, MOVA maintained the high quality drink standards and excellent service, but it gained a whole lot more.

Babak’s vision of providing a luxury product at an afford-able price became the staple of what has made MOVA so great over the years. MOVA’s signature martinis have been and still are the game changer, but now you can also grab a cocktail at a price anyone can afford. Its drink specials literally range from $3 Miller Lites to $5 Finlandia vodka cocktails to free shots on Sundays during their Out ‘n’ Ugly Sunday party.

No matter how you look at it, MOVA has certainly evolved over the years, and it has grown to appeal to a community as diverse as Miami itself!

Check out their anniversary party weekend this week-end, July 29th to July 31st. Each night will feature an open Finlandia vodka bar from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. as well as a constant stream of contortionists, fire dancers, court jesters, clowns, and tons of surprises!

To find out more, I sat down with owner Babak Mova-hedi. Check out what he had to say:

How has MOVA evolved over the past four years?

MOVA has truly grown and morphed into a place that offers a little something for everyone. While transitioning from HALO to MOVA, we really spent a lot of time think-ing about what our regular customers really wanted from our bar. I have always had high standards in regards to service, quality of ingredients, and cocktails, but MOVA has become more than that.

Over the past four years, like most people, we have seen the effects of a dismal economy. We know that most peo-ple have had to cut back and reduce spending, which is why we have considerably changed our prices at MOVA without sacrificing the quality of our drinks and service.

Our motto has been and will continue to be modern luxu-ry at an affordable price. From college students, who en-joy the $4 Finlandia Vodka cocktails during Wednesday night’s College Night, to our regulars, who have fallen in love with our signature martinis, there really is a cocktail, a night, and a price for any and everyone! And that is really how we have evolved over the past few years.

A lot of people still associate MOVA with HALO. How is it is different and how is it alike?

Because we are in the same space, we continue to get that association, but like I said before, we have really evolved as a business. HALO was always known as a

WIRE FEATURE: MOVA: THE LATEST EVOLUTION IN NIGHTLIFE

sophisticated lounge where people knew they would get a high quality cocktail and great service, and that has certainly not changed. In fact, the drinks and the service have only gotten better.

But MOVA is also different in a number of ways. MOVA is younger, fresher, and certainly hipper. Our drink pric-es and weekly event line-up have really helped create a new customer base that ranges from college students to sophisticated and discerning business men and women. On Sundays, our bartenders cut loose, free pour Herra-dura tequila shots, and dance on the bar tops! You would never have seen that at HALO.

What has been the response to the new, hipper MOVA?

The response has been incredible. In the end, we all re-ally want the same thing – to have a great time and find an escape from the daily grind. Our College Wednes-days have become one of our most popular nights – and getting people to go out on a Wednesday in this town is no easy task. Our new Sunday night party, Out ‘n’ Ugly Sundays continues to grow and draw in a crowd of peo-ple, looking to really let loose and get wild. Of course, every time we host a wet underwear contest, toga party, or fashion show, things always get a little out of control!

MOVA has always been really focused on the community. What are some of the things you guys have done over the past few years to support the community?

At MOVA we also regularly host fundraising events to support a number of local LGBT organizations that do some really important work. We hosted Drag Bingo for Care Resource for more than a year, recently held a fun-draising event for the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, and continue to support organizations like the Aqua Foundation, Equality Florida, and Miami Beach Gay Pride.

MOVA has also had very strong ties with the political community here. Why is that?

MOVA has and will always be a place where politicians and voters can come together. Maybe it is because of my days in Washington D.C., but I think it is important that members of the LGBT community have a forum, a place, where they can ask the questions that directly impact their lives without being harassed, discriminated against, or attacked by unaccepting people. I wanted MOVA to

offer that safe space where politicians and voters can openly connect.

MOVA’s weekly event line-up has grown to in-clude a diversity of events. Can you give me a run down?

Our weekly line-up has become just as diverse as the people who live and visit South Beach. On Mondays, we have an incredible karaoke night with DJ AJ Reddy. I am really excited about our new Tuesday Latin night called RUMBA. This is the first time we have partnered with Milancita.com, and we are expecting some really great things with this night. There really is no other Latin night like RUMBA, and I think people are really going to appreciate that.

College Wednesdays speak for itself. It’s always packed, the drinks are very affordable, and the crowd is always very attractive. On Thursdays, it is all about our ladies, as Pandora hosts their weekly Sweet Thursdays. Friday nights, we feature something new, so people can always expect the unexpected. Saturday nights have become one of our most popular nights as well. VJ Chris Racine does a fantastic job of setting the vibe, and playing ex-actly what the crowd is looking for. People come in for one drink and wind up staying all night!

Sundays have become one of my favorite nights at MOVA. The Penny Back Boyz and Sookie Stacks have really created something special here, and people are really loving it.

I also noticed that you guys have been launch-ing some new monthly events. Can you tell me about that?

No one wants the same thing all the time, which is why we also host one-off events, as well as monthly events. On the first Thursday of the month, we have Maryel Epps performing from 7 to 9 p.m. in a way most people have never seen her – she is singing house music! The first one was a huge hit.

On the first Friday of each month, we also host our Friends and Family Happy Hour, where we do a martini tasting for $20. This gives people an opportunity to taste about six to eight of our signature martinis from 7 to 9 p.m.

We are also launching a new event called A Taste of Lincoln Road this month. The event will feature three to

four restaurants from The Road, paired with a martini tasting. For $25 about 100 people will get to try some of the most amazing restaurants on Lincoln Road, as well as our signature drinks. The best part is that this is also a fundraising event for Care Resource!

Each bar has its own unique quality. What do you think separates MOVA from the other gay bars in Miami?

Beyond the fact that we are the only gay martini bar in Miami Beach, MOVA is also a perfect space for private and special events. Our stark white walls, state-of-the-art projectors, and customizable lighting system have pro-vided a good amount of businesses with the ideal loca-tion to launch a product, host a birthday party, and even host important presentations!

This is one area we have really focused on this year. We have set-up preferred catering relationships with different restaurants, including Whole Foods Market South Beach to provide our private events with deeply discounted rates. I’ve also brought in a special events manager to ensure all our private events go off without a hitch!

What can people expect at this year’s anniver-sary party?

This year, we have created an entire weekend of events that are centered on the wonderful world of the circus. To thank our regulars we will be offering an open Finlandia vodka bar from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! The craziness will begin on Friday night, when MOVA is transformed into a big top. Contortionists, fab-ric dancers, little people, DJ Juan E, Pussila, and many other surprises will make Friday night a wild experience. On Saturday, we will continue the circus with flame danc-ers and special guest appearances. There will be special guest appearances all night. Sunday will be the most over the top night of them all, all of our circus entertainer will come together to create an over the night top in the “big top”! DJ Latrice will be working the turntables, so we know the music will be pumping all night long.

WIRED FLIX: WORLD ON A WIRE & PROJECT NIM COME TO MIAMI

The Miami premiere of Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s World on a Wire is a coup for the Miami Beach Cinema-theque and an important cultural event for Miami. And it’s a manic movie trip!

Produced for German television in 1973, World on a Wire aired and was screened at a few film festivals and then it vanished. Recently restored, the film is touring North America with the Cinematheque screening it this weekend.

Based on an American science fiction novel, World on a Wire is a mesmerizing vision of a world of paranoia and beauty, glimpsed in gauzy, shimmering light. It’s a film noir in silver and the provocative palette of the 1970s: acidic yellows, burnt oranges, cold blues. It’s a long, lan-guorous, post-orgasmic sigh with chase scenes.

Whole subgenres of contemporary science fiction echo World on Wire’s story: A tech company has created an alternate world populated by computer programs that could pass for people – and that sometimes cross the line between the virtual world and the real one.

As a scientist (Klaus Löwitsch) working for the company investigates the project, he gets pushback from manage-ment (they are, naturally, trying to use the project for corrupt commercial purposes) and interference from the press (they’re trying to expose management). And as he burrows deeper, he becomes confused about where the actual world ends and the virtual world begins.

Fassbinder doesn’t exactly neglect the plot, but World on a Wire is by no means a Hollywood film with a neatly etched narrative arc. The director stands back from his story, viewing it from a distance, framing it with outland-ish décor, shooting reflections in mirrors, and scoring it with what frequently sounds like arbitrary needle-down music (is that The Blue Danube playing? Playing now? Why?)

Fassbinder revels in his pulpy sci-fi source, while satiriz-ing it and the cinematic conventions associated with it. Viewing World on a Wire prompts innumerable vague memories of things you’ve seen in other movies. But be-fore you place the moment, the shot, the film is moving – and you’re compelled to move with it.

Fassbinder is a gay cultural icon, as famous for the ex-tremity of his life as his mastery of cinema. And there’s a distinctly gay sensibility at work here. Nothing is what it seems. Evil festers behind the bland gray facades of office blocks. And beneath the glittering, seductive sheen of sleek chrome furniture, in the chilly light of Spartan High Tech lamps, danger awaits.

The entire enterprise can be enjoyed as a crazy camp spectacle and a prescient meditation on the nature of reality and the ways movies portray it. World on a Wire goes both ways.

Over on the mainland, where reality as we know it has not been suspended for the weekend, the Coral Gables Art Cinema is presenting the Miami premiere of Project Nim, the new documentary from the director/producer team of James Marsh and Simon Chinn, whose previ-ous doc, Man on Wire, won the 2009 Oscar for Best Documentary.

Project Nim is the engrossing account of a scientific ex-periment launched at Columbia University in 1973. Nim, a baby chimpanzee, joins the human family of Stepha-nie LaFarge, a psychology student with no knowledge or experience of chimpanzees, to be raised as a human child, to learn sign language, and to communicate with humans. LaFarge dresses Nim, cuddles him and (aston-ishingly) breast-feeds him. Nim grows, learns signs, and runs riot in LaFarge’s Upper West Side home.

Having outgrown his first human home, Nim is moved to a large estate owned by the university. There, he learns

many more signs. His physical power also increases and his manipulative streak – it often seems that Nim under-stands his human teachers better than they understand him – comes to the fore.

Nim’s language skills stall. He bites his trainers. The ex-periment is abruptly terminated and Nim is sent back where he came from, to a primate research center in Oklahoma, to live with other chimps, even though he has only known human contact since infancy. Nim is headed for a medical lab, sold as a research animal, before some of his more sympathetic keepers start a crusade to free him.

Project Nim features a wealth of archival film artfully in-terwoven with interviews with the human who took part in Nim’s story. It’s a jaw-dropping chronicle of human hubris and callousness. You’ll be rooting for the chimp from the word go.

TOP TRAX: GOODBYE AMY BY DJ FR8-O

They tried to make her go to rehab, but she said “No,

No, No!” What seemed like just another catchy song to

the rest of the world was all too real for the singer-song-

writer whose life and career revolved around drugs,

alcohol addiction, eating disorders, and depression.

Amy Winehouse became an international superstar

almost overnight, but all that fame and celebrity only

made her inner struggles that much harder to deal with;

taking a toll on her health and eventually taking her life.

Before she sported the beehive hairdo and Cleopatra

eyeliner, Amy Jade Winehouse was just a little Jewish

girl from Southgate, London who loved listening

to her dad sing Frank Sinatra songs to her. Some

of her greatest loves were 1960s girl groups like The

Ronettes who became the greatest influence on her

style. When she was 13-years old she got her first guitar

and began writing her own music. By the time she was

19 she signed onto Simon “American Idol” Fuller’s

Management and was already in high demand.

In October of 2003, Amy released her debut album,

Frank, in the UK. It peaked at #13 on the UK charts

but wasn’t released in the U.S. until years later. Amy’s

career really bolted when she released her second

album; the phenomenal Back to Black. The album

killed at the 2008 Grammys, winning five awards;

including Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best

Female Pop Vocal Performance for “Rehab,” Best Pop

Vocal Album and Best New Artist. Her multiple wins

also earned her a spot in the Guinness Book of

World Records that year for Most Grammy Awards

won by a British Female Act.

Besides doing her own thing on stage and in the stu-

dio, Winehouse also collaborated with other artists

like Mark Ronson who produced her megahit “Re-

hab” and also featured her vocals on “Valerie” from

his 2007 album, Version. She also turned it out with

ex-Sugababe member Mutya Buena on “B Boy

Baby,” and will appear on Tony Bennett’s upcom-

ing album, Duets II, which is set to drop on September

20th of this year.

Amy also had a few other passions. In 2007 she mar-

ried her on-and-off-again boyfriend Blake Fielder-

Civil here in Miami. She also used her famed “assets”

to help others. As part of a breast cancer awareness

campaign, Amy posed almost completely naked for

the April 2008 issue of Easy Living magazine and

a year later launched her own record label-Lioness

Records. The first act on her label was her 13-year-

old goddaughter, Dionne Bromfield. Her first album

Introducing Dionne Bromfield featured covers of

classic soul records much like the ones who inspired

her famous godmother. On July 20, 2011 Amy made

a guest appearance on stage to support the release of

Dionne’s second album, Good For the Soul. It was

Amy’s last public appearance.

Amy Winehouse was the hottest thing to happen to

pop music in a long time. Her music not only enter-

tained her fans, but it opened doors for other female

British artists like Adele, Duffy, VV Brown, and

Florence and the Machine to bring their brand of

music from across the pond over here to the U.S. Even

Lady Gaga gives Amy props for some of her own

success for making it easier for unconventional women

to break into mainstream music. But none of that was

enough to rescue Amy from her inner demons. She

was in and out of rehab multiple times and showed up

to performances completely intoxicated or just plain

out of it. Although she was recently doing better, the

years of abuse had left her in fragile health. Despite

her history with addiction, police say no drugs were

found in her house at the time of her death and officials

say her death was not suspicious. However the official

cause won’t be determined for a few more weeks.

Amy now follows in the footsteps of other famous musi-

cians like Jim Morisson, Kurt Cobain, Janis Jo-

plin, and Jimmy Hendrix, who all died at the age

of 27 (aka The 27 Club). Although deeply troubled,

Amy Winehouse was able to channel her depression

and experiences into her music to tell stories that could

only be told by someone who’s really been there. She

was a gifted an innovative artist whose talent was si-

lenced way too soon. Goodbye, Amy. Here’s to you!
