Payangadi : Amidst celebrating the rapid expansion of Wadihuda institutions, the management and the staff rolled out the red carpet to receive the guests and the alumni with great enthusiasm on 15th August 2019 at the main campus naming the event as “Ormmakalude Manchottil”. Around 5000 former students, teach-ers and staff from the period of 1980-2019 gathered under the same roof once again. The program was categorized into the morning and afternoon sessions. The alumni registered their names in the re-spective institutional wise enrollment counters. They were greeted with wel-come drinks. The event was inaugurated by A.P.M Muhammed Hanish IAS by paying homage to the victims of the flood affected areas. Dramatist Ibrahim Vengara, Jamath Islami Womens Wing Member P. Ruksana, Basheer Muhiyudheen had graced the occassion. Successful alumni and spon-sors were honored for their diligence at their respective industry. Chairman V.K Hamzah Abbas and Managing Director S.A.P Abdussalam accorded them with a token of appreciation. Prominent alumni members shared their golden moments back in school on stage. Radio Jockey Mu-sawwir (Wadihuda Alumnus) entertained the audience till the last minute of the show. Alumni Association Adhoc Commit-tee Members were declared at the event by the former Principal of the school Mr.

Umar Muhammed Madeeni. World known calligrapher and alumnus of Wadihuda Mr. Khaleelullah Chemnad commenced mobilizing the financial assistance for the victims of flood affected areas. Jaleel Pa-danna released Roohma Fathima’s poem compilation “Maash”. Adding a revela-tion to the show, Wadihuda Admin De-partment released their felicitation song “Mavukalude Thoppu” lyricized by Direc-tor Administration Mr.Farook Usman that recalled the precious moments of the alumni back in those days at school. After the meal, the alumni revisited their class-rooms and teachers. The meet provided a chance for the alumni to share their cher-ishing childhood memories and renew their friendship beneath the mango trees. It let them re-create the carefree days of their school lives as they got a chance to visit all the locations they once frequent-ed. The school premise was pulsated with scintillating programmes and lively crowd. Institutional wise recreational ac-tivities, book stall and public display of the evolution of Wadihuda Group of In-stitutions were an added advantage to the event. The event was a tremendous success, under the auspicious guidance of the Academic Director Mr. Sajid Nadwi, Administrative Director Mr. Farook Usman and the delegates of Alumni association Mr. S.L.P Rafeeq, Mr.V.V Sharief and Mr.T.K Habeeb.

A DAY TO CHERISH MERITORIOUS STUDENTS AWARDED

Award ceremony was held in Pro-gressive English School on 15th June 2019 to felicitate the students who performed exceptionally well in the board examination of classes X and XII. The function was presided over by Mr. S A P Abdussalam, Managing Director and inaugurated by Mr. V.K Khalid, Chairman of IECI Manage-ment Council, in his inaugural ad-dress congratulated the achievers who by dint of their merit, hard work,

perseverance and focused attitude have proved their uniqueness. The school bagged the best performance award for meritorious performance in AISSCE-19 instituted by Vidya Council for Education. The event or-ganized by Vidya Council in associa-tion with Progressive English School marked awarding the toppers of vari-ous schools in Kannur and Kasaragod district under Vidya council followed with the honoring of the achievers

of Progressive English School and Wadihuda Higher Secondary School. The event also recognised Faiz Ali of Wadihuda Higher Secondary School who bagged first place in 400mtrs, United National Games 2019, held at Goa. Progressive English School celebrated it’s Annual Day 2019 titled ”Progressive Utsav 2019” on 7th December. Mr. V Thulasidas, MD, Kannur International Airport Lim-ited, (KIAL) was the chief guest for the event. The formal welcome was entailed by Mrs Suchitra R, Principal. The programme was presided over by Mr. Hamzah Abbas, Chairman, Ta’aleemul Islam Trust and was inaugrated by Mr. V Thulasidas. UKG students of Little Buds Kindergarten Wadihuda donned their ‘Chef Caps’ to exhibit their culinary skills in ‘Cooking Without Fire’ competition held on 24 Jan 2020. Children participated with full zeal and enthusiasm as they doled out nutritious yet delectable delicacies. Dishes were judged on nutrition and taste by esteemed judges. The event provided a platform for the students to foster their creativity.

Swaliha of Progressive English School was awarded with commendation certificate and trophy from Health Min-ister Smt. K.K Shylaja in association with the Ministry of Women and Child Development on 7th March 2020 for exhibiting her adventuresome in order to spread the awareness on environmental protection.

INSPIRO’19 - QUR’AN BASED COMPETITIONS

Inspiro 19, Quran based Competitions, Kannur Cluster, organized by Integrated Education Council India (IECI) was hosted by Progressive English School, Wadihuda, on July 30, 2019. Al-Falah high School, Peringadi bagged first place with 24 points and Al-Huda English School, Kanhirode, with 18 points and Progressive English School with 14 points second and third positions respectively. Heavens Preschool section of our school celebrated ‘Yel-low Day’ on 10th July 2019. The motive of celebrating this day was to make the kids aware of the colour ‘yel-low ‘ and its significance. The classrooms were decorated with yellow colour balloons, objects, cut outs etc. All the students were dressed up in yellow colour. With great enthusiasm, fervor and zeal, Wadihuda High-er Secondary School reopened on 10th June 2019 and students entered the schooling phase of their lives with much hope and aspiration to revive again after a long and rejuvenating summer break. Under the supervision of Ms. Sapna, the class 8th stu-dents of Wadihuda Higher Secondary School had initi-ated a sustainable way to grow their own nutrient rich food by promoting diversity in cultivation by gardening organic vegetables. Prior to their attempt, these students visited Karimbam farm and collected enough seeds to start their farming. The students were very much curious and excited to sow the seeds at the terrace of the cam-

pus and sprinkle water on it daily. Within a span of two months, the campus terrace was lushed out with green vegetables. Principal Mr. Sajith Kumar, Head Teacher Mr. Shuhaib S.V.P appreciated the attempt of students and teachers. They added that garden-based learning will have a positive impact on students’ grades, knowledge, attitudes, and behavior.

Wadihuda Crescent English School conducted school level science fair on 19th October 2019. The fair was in-augurated by Mr. Sajith, Principal, Wadihuda Higher Sec-ondary School. The students presented static and work-ing models that can be used for learning various scientific concepts in future. The prime motive of the facilitators

was not only to initiate a scientific observance but also to have a research mindedness in the early ages compel-ling them to participate in such scientific activities so as to understand the cognitive, effective and psychomotor aspects. Induction programme is an initiative to groom the overall personality of students and make them acquainted with the culture of the institution. The induction programme for the students and parents was held on 1st July 2019 at WIRAS. The programme was inaugurated by Chairman V.K Hamzah Abbas. MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING TO THE FLOOD VICTIMS OF KERALA

Under the supervision of Mental Health Department of WIRAS and AWH college Payyannur, the students took a foremost step to provide proper mental health care to the victims of the flood affected areas on 17th August 2019. They visited the houses of the victims to provide them with proper counseling under the supervision of the con-sultant psychologists Mr. Akhil K, Ms. Priya Sarath, and Ms.Thaniya K. These determined students visited flood affected areas like Taliparamb, Sreekandapuram, Payan-gadi, Ezhome, Pappinisseri, Peringome within a span of two days.

Ms.Mubashira Rahman, Title: Psychological Aspects of Menstrual Poverty in Resource Poor Educational Environ-ment., Ms. Shahzana C.K, Title: The Psycho social predica-ment of Coastal Community Affected by Sea Turbulence, Mr. Miqdad Sulaiman Rayarome, Title: Migration, The place attachment and cultural intelligence among Indian Interstate Migrants. Out of 43 particpants this trio from WIRAS astonished the delegates at the conference.

Students Union Inauguration DISHA 2019-2020 was held on 21st November 2019. WIRAS Principal Professor Jun-aid P.A gave the formal welcome. Mr. Ravi Ezhome (The-atre Artist and Public Speaker) inaugurated the function. While addressing the students, the chief guest advised that one should be aware of the responsibility he/she owes. CHILDREN’S DAY

The teachers and students of Karunya Nikethan School for the Deaf celebrated Children’s Day on November 14 along with the WIRAS –Psychology Department students. Psychology students conducted various games like crush-ing the balloons, lemon and spoon, drawing competition etc. They distributed sweets and prizes to the students.

Under the auspicious presence of PTA committee mem-bers and staff council, the passed out students of Karu-nya Niketan School for the Deaf was felicitated for their academic excellence in the year 2019. Madayi BPO Mr. Rajesh Kadannappally officially inaugurated the occa-sion. He appreciated the students for overcoming all the crises and also added to his statement that those who survived physical challenges had brought greater chang-es to the world. The manager of the school Mr. K.P Adam Kutty presided over the function. Headmistress in charge Ms. Suneera welcomed the gathering and Staff Secretary Ms. Salma K offered sincere gratitude to the audience. Adninan MP has secured full A+ and marked an epoch in the schools’ history. During the ceremony Mr. Samad (cine artist) had joined in the celebrations. The event co-ordinators and students exclaimed in delight by watching his live performance on the stage.

FELICITATION OF SSLCSPECIAL SCHOOL TOPPERS

V.V Mushtaq of KNS has achieved A Grade with fourth place in High School Level Mono Act play held as a part of Special School Arts Festival. He rose to his full potential while ac-complishing his fantabulous performance in ottappalam. In spite of his multiple physical

limitations, he played the struggling life of an Assam soldier who was imposed as an illegal migrant and sent to detention camp after sev-eral years of serving the nation. The caliber of his accomplishments produced a lasting influ-ence to the audience.

The Convocation Ceremony was conducted by Wadihuda Industrial Training Institute on 5th December 2019 with Muhammed Anfas K.V (Draughtsman Civil Trade) and Amal M.V (Mechanic Motor Vehicle Trade) being conferred with the best trainee title. With 100 percentage success rate, the inaugural ceremony of the event was done by Mr. V.K Hamzah Abbas Chairman Ta’aleemul Islam Trust. Mr. TV Rajesh (MLA of Kalliasseri Constituency) was the guest of honor. The students and the audience were then enthralled by the rousing speech of the Chief Guest. He awarded the momento for the best trainees. The Chair-

The civil service foundation course for 9th std students was organised on 2nd September 2019 by WICE. Around 30 students from Progressive English School, Crescent English School and Wadihuda Higher Secondary School

was introduced to the course by Mr. Ashif K.P, Director of WICE. The programme began with a brief inaugural session by Managing Director Wadihuda Mr. S.A.P Abdus-salam.

The literary creativity of Wadihuda staff was released in the form of poem compilation titled “Uppu” by Jamal Kadan-nappally on the occasion of Kerala Piravi Celebrations.

“A BOOK IS A DEVICE TO LIGHT THE IMAGINATION”

In order to enrich the summer vacation and to instill reading habits, Wadihuda Institute of Competitive Exami-nations Department initiated a literature program named “10 books challenge” so as to develop the linguistic skills and critical analyzation of the students. The determined students had completed reading 10 books of their choice and prepared a critical review within a stipulated date. The official declaration of the program was held on 3rd April 2019. Eminent novelist Mr. Benyamin inaugurated the event. Speaking on the occasion to the participants and audiences of nearly 500, Mr. Benyamin stated that

education must contribute compassion and empathy to the brotherhood. Mr.Muhammed Sajid PK greeted the audience. Presidential address was given by Mr.VK Ham-za Abbas- Chairman Ta’aleemul Islam Trust. The students took an oath administered by the Principal of Progressive English School Ms. Suchithra. Mr. Ashif KP- Directpr Wadi-huda Institute of Competitive Examinations delivered the keynote speech. SIDRA 2020

Wadihuda heavens preschool celebrated its annual day and convocation ceremony on 29 February 2020 at the school auditorium. Ms. Jaseema Jayafer - Wadihuda heavens head teacher welcomed the gathering. Mr. V.P Basheer zonal president of Jamath Islami Hind inaugu-rated the function. Mr. Susheer Hassan, Director of Heav-ens Preschools was the chief guest. He spoke on various current topics. The special guest of the occassion was Mr. Anees Musthafa, who entertained the audience with his pleasing voice. The SKY 3 students and their parents were awarded on stage for completing their three years journey at the preschool. Mr. Muhammed Kunhi A, Gen-

eral Secretary of Ta’aleemul Islam Trust presided over the function. Swaliha E was granted with special achieve-ment award for her adventuresome by creating aware-ness among the public to protect and preserve the en-vironment. Prizes were given away to the toppers and other students who had brought laurels to the school in HIKMA and LEAP examinations. Mr. Musthafa Ibrahim, Ms Suchithra, Mr. Yahya V.U and Mr. S.L.P Moideen offered their sincere felicitations. At the end, Ms. Farzana, Assis-tant Head Teacher proposed the vote of thanks. The tal-ented students presented mesmerizing cultural events.

Wadihuda Recreation Club was formed in order to focus more on the social interaction and to unveil the hidden talents of the staff and their family members. The club was first introduced to all the staff on 29th March 2019. Motto of the club is “FOR BETTER LIFE”. On 7th Septem-ber 2019, under the superintendence of WRC members “Onachantham” was organized to mark the festivities of

Onam at Wadihuda Auditorium. Mr. Muhammed Shameem was the chief guest who spoke about the history of sev-eral great personalities. Various arts programmes like folk song, onappattu, thiruvaathira, mohiniyattam ,group song, karaoke songs, traditional games like tug of war, sundarik-koru pottu kuth were organized. The most impressive part of the celebration was the grand feast called ‘sadhya’.

ONACHANTHAM

On 10th October 2019, WRC executive members con-ducted a seminar on the Life of the Father of the Na-tion marking his 150th birth anniversary. The program was inaugurated by S.A.P Abdussalam , MD Wadihuda
