KEEPING TW BEAUTIFUL…

The camellias and azaleas are blooming beautifully! It is so good to hear newcomers say that after they saw Trails West, they told their realtor not to show them any other community. This is a compliment not only for the common

property but also for the way individual homes are kept.

The two medians from the north entrance have recently been completely renovated. The Beautification Committee is making plans for additional renovations in 2017.

The Trails West association did some early storm clean-up after Matthew, but we’re glad FEMA and the County got our piles of storm debris cleaned up before Christmas.

The swimming pool was beautifully resurfaced and the pool baths renovated in 2016. The tennis courts are scheduled for resurfacing in 2017. Remember, they are also striped for Pickleball.

HISTORY LOVERSA resident as provided a two-page history of the Spanish Crown grant to Don Domingo Reyes and

the Patriot War of East Florida. We didn’t have room to print it here, but a copy is available at the office.

C & R VIOLATIONS: On-Street Parking

The C & R’s specifically state that vehicles may not be parked on the street or right-of-way overnight or for more than 10 hours. Trails West streets are narrow. On-street parking leaves little room for emergency vehicles. Please be considerate of your neighbors by parking in your garage or driveway.

SPRING CLEANINGAs spring approaches and brings the urge to renovate, remember to get the Architectural Review Committee approval to exterior changes in your home. See LuEllen for the modification request form.

SAVE THE DATESThe Trails West Social Group is planning two community social events for Saturday, March 18, and Saturday, May 20, 2017 evenings starting at 7 pm.

Plan to attend, get to know your neighbors, and enjoy an evening together.

Please bring an appetizer or dessert to share, and your own personal drinks.

BEAR FACTSWe are learning to live in “bear country.” Although I have heard our bear is BIG AND BEAUTIFUL, we still would prefer he stay in the woods.

The best way to make that happen is to deny access to an easy meal. Do not leave any food outside, even bird seed or suet.

If possible, wait until the morning of trash pick-up to put your cans at curbside. Some neighbors have found that attaching a pool chlorine tablet to the inside of the trash can lid neutralizes the food odor and makes the contents less attractive. BUT if the bear still scatters your trash, please clean it up. The county collectors will not do this.
