Annual Meeting 2015Join the Wyrope Williamsport Federal Credit Union as it celebrates it’s 57th Anniversary. On Saturday, March 28th the credit union will host an evening of fun, food and over $1800 in cash prizes. Help us celebrate the beginning of spring with a vacation-themed party held in the Garden Terrace Room at the Genetti Hotel. Tickets will go on sale beginning February 2nd for $20 per person.

Once again our members have gone above and beyond with their generosity. Our annual collection for the Marine Corp. Toys for Tots Campaign and the Children’s Miracle Network exceeded previous years and our expectations. Thank you!

Introducing: Chip Technology for your Visa Debit CardBeginning in July 2015, new debit cards reissued to our members will come with new chip technology built right in. This tiny chip prevents your card information in a big way! EMV chip cards contain secure computer chips that validate the authenticity of the card and include a one-time use security code in every transaction, making chip payment data virtually impossible to use for counterfeit card fraud.

Answers to questions about chip-enabled Visa Debit Cards: Q: How does chip technology protect my information? A: Every time you use your card at a chip-enabled terminal, the embedded chip generates a unique transaction code. This prevents stolen data from being fraudulently used.

Q: Where can I use my chip-enabled card? A: You can use them anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted.

Q: Can I still swipe my chip-enabled card to pay? A: Yes. If a merchant is not yet chip-enabled, simply continue to swipe your card. Then enter your PIN. Or select Credit and sign for your purchase.

Q: Can I use my chip-enabled debit card at the ATM? A: Yes. You can still use your card to get cash, check your balance and more. Simply insert the chip end of your card with the chip facing up.

The look of the terminal will not change, there will be a slot either at the top or bottom of the machine. Insert your chip card into the machine and leave it inside during the transaction. You will be prompted to remove the card, once the transaction is complete. If you swipe a chip card at a chip terminal, you will be prompted to insert it.

Directors Declare DividendThe Board of Directors of the Wyrope Williamsport FCU have voted to leave the dividend rate unchanged for the 4th quarter of 2014. The declared dividend base share/savings rate is 0.35% APR; all other share/savings accounts will remain at 0.20% APR; and regular share draft/checking accounts will pay 0.10% APR.
