Advising for New College-Level Students Week 3

If this is your first term at Lane, please make an appointment to see Jen or Dao this week to talk about your academic

plan at Lane and beyond!

Advising for Continuing College-Level Students Week 4-5

If you are a continuing student at Lane, please make an appointment to see Jen or Dao during Week 4 or 5 to discuss

your degree and transfer plan and get help choosing classes for Winter 2013.

Come to the International Programs office in 11/235 and make an appointment with the receptionist.

Registration for College-Level Classes: Spring 2013

Remember – the class schedule for Spring 2013 will be posted online Week 5 and registration begins Week 6. You

can check the following link to view the registration calendar by term and see the staged registration dates: http://

Tuition Payment

Remember to pay your bill! You can pay in one of the following ways:

-log in online to MyLane and click the My Finances tab and then “Make an Online Payment” on the left

-write a check to Lane Community College and turn it in to Enrollment Services in Building 1

-pay in cash to an Enrollment Services advisor in Building 1

Lane Foundation Scholarships

Apply for your chance to earn one of many Lane Foundation Scholarships worth $1000 each! The deadline to apply is

March 14. Hint: you do NOT need to apply for FAFSA in order to fill out the online Foundation scholarship

DID YOU KNOW? Honors Program Spring 2013 Application Deadline – Wednesday, January 30 at 5 pm

Do you want to belong to a community of honors students at Lane and take your learning to the next level? Are you

interested in getting honors recognition on your transcript and a competitive edge when applying for scholarships and

to four-year universities? If you have tested into or completed WR 121 and if you have completed 15 credits at Lane

with a GPA of 3.25 or higher, now’s your chance to apply! The deadline for Spring 2013 applicants is Wednesday,

January 30 with notifications sent on or by Friday, February 1. Visit the website at www.lanecc.edu/honors to apply

online or contact [email protected] with questions.

How To Pay For College In One Day Workshop

Saturday, January 26 – 8:30 am-2:30 pm in Building 19 (CML) lobby

Learn how to find and compete for scholarships and how to write effective applications. Specific information about

Lane Foundation scholarships will be provided. NOTE: you do NOT have to fill out the FAFSA form because you

cannot receive federal financial aid as an international student, so this part of the workshop does not apply to you!

Winter Scholarship Workshops – February 1st, 8th and 22nd from 2-3:20 pm in 19/241

Confused about how to apply for scholarships? Join these free workshops and learn about how to search for

scholarships as well as how to fill out applications, order a transcript, write personal statement and create an activity

UO Transfer Day – Wednesday, January 30 – 1:30-5 pm in Building 19 (CML)

Here’s your chance to meet with U of O advisors and current U of O students and ask all of your burning questions!

You can also attend workshops on how to apply, which scholarships you should know about, how to succeed in a

university setting and how to use Duckweb in addition to visiting resource tables for many U of O programs and

departments. Don’t miss it!

FREE Theater Performance – Company

Free tickets are available in the International Programs Office for the upcoming LCC student production of

"Company" (a musical performance). Tickets are free but you must call 541.463.5761 to reserve a seat! Performance

days and times are Jan 31-Feb 2, Feb 8-10, and Feb 14-16 at 7:30 pm as well as Feb 10 at 2 pm. See http://

Looking for students who want to share their story at Chinese Lunar New Year Celebration!

Chinese New Year is coming up! International Programs will be celebrating on February 13 at 11:30 am in the Long

House. We are looking for 4 students to make a short presentation about New Year's traditions during the luncheon.
