The topics include but are not limited to: Practical aspects and issues of wind turbine drivetrain tribology Fundamental investigations of white etch crack or other failure mechanisms Advanced materials and surface coating applications for wind turbine drivetrains Condition monitoring methods and analyses Gearbox oil filtering and maintenance studies Advanced lubricant development Contact fatigue failure prediction modeling Main shaft bearing failure mechanisms Interested authors can submit abstracts through the society's online process. To submit an abstract, please visit the STLE web site, http://stle2015.abstractcentral.com/. Remember to indicate “Wind Turbine Tribology” by checking-off the appropriate box when submitting. Please note the following deadlines: October 1 st , 2014 (Wednesday) – short abstract submissions March 15 th , 2015 (Sunday) – student poster competition abstract submission
