Fact: The aerodynamic power output of each wind turbine changes
with inter-turbine spacing variation
Estimate the right spacing between wind turbines to maximize
power production and minimize wake effect, turbulence effect and
fatigue load during service.

Planning the Wind Farm – Minimizing Environmental Impacts

Fact: Turbine placement is challenging in urban environment. Often, the turbine must be
added without removing existing infrastructure, including buildings and trees.
Fact: The landscape also has an impact on the choice of the adequate wind farm layout
and on the power output of the selected wind farm.
