Like other wind turbines, Wind Energy 275 kW wind turbine is

both robust and lightweight. Designed around a guyed mast,

it is very easy to transport, install and maintain, and shows

excellent resistance to cyclone zone.

Easy Transport Ground Maintenance

Designed to �t in 5 containers 40'(excluding blades), the Wind Energy 275 kW is cheap and easy to carry. Ordinary trucks, dirt tracks, islands, mountains ... it can reach anywhere in the world.

The exclusive lowering system of the Wind Energy 275 kW let us perform ground maintenance. Maintenance costs are reduced to a minimum.

Easy Installation Hurricane Protection

The GEV MP withstand extreme winds up to Category 5 hurricanes. This protection is recognized by our insurers.

Thanks to its exclusive auto-elevation, Wind Energy 275 kW is incredibly easy to install and requires only light handling equipment.

Lightweight StructureWith a weight of 20 tons with height of 55 meters, Wind Energy 275 kW shows unique ratio performance/weight: it is 2 times more light per kW than conventional wind turbine.

Compact Nacelle 2 nacelles �t in one standard container of 20'.

Light Guyed MastMade up of modular elements of 11.88 meters long, it is transported in containers of 40'.

Standalone InstallationAll of the turbine is assembled on the ground and thenerected with a hydraulic built winch. No crane is required. Only a telescopic forklift is required for assembly.

Reduced FoundationsThe use of shrouds reduces drastically the foundations only 15 m3 of concrete, or 80% less concrete compared to a conventional turbine

Hurricane Protection

In case of hurricane warning, the speed of lowering operations can secure any wind farm in record time. Once tethered to the ground, the Wind Energy 275 kW can withstand winds of over 300 km/h (Category 5 hurricanes).

Rotor Blade - Exclusive lowering SystemThe two-blade design of the Wind Energy 275 kW allows it to be lowered, which allows to perform maintenance, periodic maintenance and cleaning of the blades at ground level. The lowering is done safely in less than an hour by two people, through integrated winch.

Anti-seismic ProtectionIn case of earthquake, the light structure and guyed Wind Energy 275 kW provides high mechanical strength.

Monitoring

Because it can be installed at the end of the world, the 275 kW has all the functionality needed in terms of remote control. It is compatible with all existing telecommunication infrastructures, even the most rudimentary.

Damper Torque A mechanical damper absorbs torque �uctuations. This system allows limiting the stresses in the driveline, and smooth up the electrical signal generated.

Industrial PLCThe PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) is located inthe local electric mast.It operates in real time all the necessary parameters:• Measures wind (direction and speed)• machine parameters (speed of rotation of the rotor blade pitch, orientation of the crown, current output of generator ...)

Sensors and protected controllers• varnish protecting electronic components from condensation• High level Connectors of sealing (IP 67)• Electromagnetic Protection

Anticorrosion treatment The mast and all exposed parts are protected by a special coating. It ensures e�ective protection of the machine throughout its lifetime, including humid atmospheres, salt, or friction corrosion.

Maximizing production areas in hurricanes Through its unique lowering system the Wind Energy 275 kW can be installed on sites where only Class 1 machines could operate. With a rotor diameter of 32 meters located at 55 meters in height, a swept area of 804 m2 is used of the wind power.

Robust DesignAll parts of the Wind Energy 275 kW are realized in the finest materials. Most components are standard parts, widely used in many industrial applications, ensuring reliability. Castings, including the hub, are spheroidal graphite cast iron.The Wind Energy 275 kW is designed to support 365 network outages per year, against only 20 per year for a conventional turbine.

in the coupling Vergnet wind / diesel market penetration.

Located in a very isolated and subjected to cyclones in the

Indian Ocean and consists of 3 GEV MP coupled to 7 diesel

generators low load, with energy storage �ywheel. All supplies

95% of the local network, showing penetration of wind up to 90%.

August 2007The Wind Energy 275 is at Hurricane Dean Speed

In the Caribbean, wind Vergnet have rapidly Emerged as

the only e�ective solution against the hurricane wind risk.

On August 16, 2007, at the approach of Hurricane Dean,

the 216 turbines Vergnet Running in the Caribbean are

secured to the ground by local teams in record time:

14 hours. Among them, 11 Wind Energy 275 for Central Mahaudière,

strapped to the ground, facing gusts over 250 km/h. Once

the storm passed, the plant resumed production, without

di�culty or setback since a remarkable rate of 97% availability.
