Procedure for using Windows 7 / Vista downgrade license to
install
Windows XP Professional:
1) Install windows XP using theXP professional media with
theprovidedkeyalong with the media.
2) After installation completes, you will get pop up for
activating windowseach time you boot the system.
3) For activating, go to start programsaccessories system
toolsActivate windows.
4) Select the country as India5) Select I want to speak to
customer service representative for
activating windows and click next.6) Note down the product ID
provided by the wizard.7) Dial to Microsoft using the number
08040103000.8) You will hear the pre recorded voice instructions9)
As per instruction, Press 1 for product activation.10) Then dont
follow any other instruction and keep idle for some time.11) You
will be provided option to speak to customer service
representative
after some time.
12) Speak to the customer service representative; inform him
that we areusing our downgrade rights to downgrade from vista to
XP.
13) Give him the product key of vista and the product ID shown
in theactivation wizard.
14) Get the activation ID and enter in the wizard and complete
theactivation process.
Note: This activation should be completed within 30 days of
installing XP.
Otherwise you will not be able to login to XP after 30 days.
