ON WELLNESS & FITNESS
• Only 3 in 10 high school students get adequate physical activity every day.
• People who are physically active tend to live longer and have lower risk for heart disease, stroke, diabetes, depression, and some cancers.
• Physical activity helps with weight control, and may improve academic achievement.

AIDS (AND OTHER STD'S)
Youth aged 13 to 24 accounted for an estimated 26% of all new HIV infections in the United
States in 2010 and the numbers are growing. Almost 60% of youth with HIV in the United States do not know they are infected.
HOW TO ACHIEVE OUR GOAL...
1. By including a community of concern citizens and developing & implementing a structured program centered on these five areas.
2. By involving youth from elementary and secondary schools, recreation centers, etc IN WORKSHOPS, SEMINARS AND MENTORING SESSIONS.
3. By allowing the participants involved in the program to be instrumental in helping to set the agenda for workshops to be hosted at various sites.
