WILSON Lena Wilson passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family members, on Wednesday, December 20th, 2017. Lena was born at her family farm in Dunkirk, SK on October 29th, 1933. She was predeceased by her brothers, Paul and Pete Rekunyk; and sister, Mary Ozog. Lena will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her husband of 65 years, Ron Wilson; children: Rick (Sharon), Rhonda (Hardy) Hibbing, Kevin (Darla), and Jayson (Sarah Savage); grandchildren: Kyle (Janet), Cullen (Brittany), Garret, Alison, John, Brendon, Aren, Kailee, Marissa, Braden, and Sara; great-grandchildren: Cohen, Emily, and Levi; sister, Elsie (Gord) Gleim; many nieces and nephews; and her greatly beloved dog, Meggie. Lena grew up on her family farm near Dunkirk, SK and enjoyed riding horses and herding cattle with her dog named Bessie. Later, she moved to Moose Jaw to work at Joyners. She soon met Ron Wilson and they married in 1952 and moved to the family farm at Grayburn, where they spent many happy years farming and raising their family. Lena loved to care for her children and grandchildren, vast array of houseplants, enjoyed gardening, and always had a pet dog. Together, her and Ron planned and built their brand new house on the family farm, which they were very proud of. In later years, Ron and Lena moved to Moose Jaw and enjoyed travelling in their motorhome to visit family, friends and relatives, and to try her luck (very good) at various casinos! e family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Sanderson and all of the Home Care Nurses for their loving care and attention in her final days. In keeping with Lena’s wishes, a Private Family Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lena’s name may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre c/o Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK S4T 7T1. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693- 4550
