ABOUTCoDa CoDa is dedicated to the continued development of dance on the campus and in the community by fostering collaboration across artistic and academic disciplines. By integrating the foundational techniques of modern and ballet with contemporary and popular forms of movement, music, and multimedia, we create an environment for the creation and performance of original work by two faculty artistic directors, visiting artists, and students.

ERICA DANKMEYER (Director/Choreographer) is an Artist-in-Residence at Williams College, where she earned her BA in Art History. She specializes in modern dance technique, history, and creative process. As a Soloist with the Martha Graham Dance Company (1996-2006), she performed extensively both in the U.S. and abroad in numerous Graham masterworks. Dankmeyer is a founding member of 360 Dance Company, dedicated to performing modern dance masterworks alongside vibrant contemporary works. Currently a principal performer with the Deborah Zall project, Dankmeyer has re-constructed classic works such as Jane Dudleys Time is Money and Anna Sokolows Kaddish.

JANINE PARKER (Director/Choreographer) has been teaching for over 25 years, and since 2007 at Williams College, where she is an Artist-in-Residence. Before moving to Western Massachusetts she was a full-time faculty member of the Boston Ballet School, where she also served as Associate Principal in charge of the Childrens Division. In the Boston area she performed with Ballet Theatre of Boston, North Atlantic Ballet, Nicola Hawkins, and Prometheus Dance. She has written about ballet and dance since 1989 for various publications including The Boston Globe, The Boston Phoenix, Arts Fuse, and The Berkshire Eagle.
