William Crozier: Graphic Work We are delighted to announce that opening on July 3rd at the Lavit Gallery, will be the first ever exhibition devoted to William Crozier's graphic work. Scots- born and Irish by adoption, this exhibition will coincide with the second anniversary of the artist’s death. The graphic work of William Crozier (1930 - 2011), though less familiar than his painting, shares the same immediately recognisable characteristics of vibrant colour, nervous energy of the drawing and, above all, a passionate engagement with his subject matter. As the master etcher, Norman Ackroyd, wrote "He, even more than Hockney, realised that (making prints) could simply be another and very beautiful way of drawing in colour.1 " The exhibition will demonstrate the ways the artist used printmaking as an extension and counter-balance to his painting.
