O U R M I S S I O NVet Centers serve Veterans and their families by providing a
continuum of quality care that adds value for the Veterans, their
families and their communities.
We welcome home war Veterans with honor by providing quality readjustment services in a caring manner, assisting Veterans and their family members toward a successful post-war adjustment in or near their communities.
Care Includes:
• Professional Readjustment Counseling• Community Education• Outreach to Special Populations• Brokering of Services with Community Agencies• Providing a Key Access Link Between the Veteran and Other Services in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

The Wichita Vet Center is a community-based Service for Veterans (and their family members) of
World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, the Persian Gulf, Somalia, Operations
in the forger Yugoslavia and Global War on Terrorism Veterans (including OEF/OIF) Veterans and
their family members of all eras who experienced sexual harassment and/or trauma during their
military Service; and family members of Armed Forces personnel (including Reservists and National
Guardsmen who were federally activated for duty) who die in their service to our country.
We understand, and most of all, we care!O U R P U R P O S EThe purpose of the Wichita Vet Center is to
reach Veterans and their significant others
throughout the state of Kansas with education
and counseling. We also strive to educate the
Veteran’s community to readjustment issues.
While our primary focus is readjustment
counseling services, we also provide referrals
to other agencies and resources such as the
Veterans Affairs Medical Centers in order to
provide our clients with all of the resources
available to them.
W H AT W E P R O V I D EThe Wichita Vet Center provides direct as
well as outreach services to eligible Veterans
and their family member who experience
readjustment difficulties as the result of the
Veteran’s service in the military.
Y O U M U S T B E A V E T E R A NIf you, or a family member, served in any combat
zone and received a military campaign ribbon
(Vietnam, Southwest Asia, OEF, OIF, etc.) then
your family is eligible for Vet Center services.

you can request a new one from the National
Archives & Records Administration (NARA):

serve the veteran and family members, upon
request Vet Centers will provide services after
normal work hours and/or on weekends.
