“But God does not use His graceto make His law of none effect, or to takethe place of His law. . . . God’s grace and
the law of His kingdom are in perfect harmony;they walk hand in hand. His grace makes it possi-
ble for us to draw nigh to Him by faith. By receiving it,and letting it work in our lives, we testify to the validi-ty of the law; we exalt the law and make it honorableby carrying out its living principles through the powerof the grace of Christ; and by rendering pure, whole-hearted obedience to God’s law, we witness before
the universe of heaven, and before an apostateworld that is making void the law of God, to
the power of redemption.” (R.H. 1896. 9. 15)
After being strangers in servitude astrange land for four hundred years, the Israelites were redeemed by Godthrough the blood of Christ. Thenthrough the experiential religion inthe path from Egypt to Canaan, Godtried to teach the history of the greatcontroversy to reach unto the perfec-tion through Christ.

“The sanctification now gaining prominence in the religiousworld carries with it a spirit of self-exaltation and a disregard forthe law of God that mark it as foreign to the religion of the Bible. Its advocates teach that sanctification is an instantaneous work, bywhich, through faith alone, they attain to perfect holiness. “Onlybelieve,” say they, “and the blessing is yours.” No further effort onthe part of the receiver is supposed to be required. At the sametime they deny the authority of the law of God, urging that theyare released from obligation to keep the commandments.” GC 470.

Change the Fourth Commandment Conceptual Change Regarding Sanctification Under the Assertion that the Cross Abolished the Law
Q : Which day is the Sabbath?A : Saturday is the Sabbath day.Q : Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?A : Because the Catholic church has transfered the
dignity from Saturday to Sunday at the LaodiceanConference.
(Laodicea Conference 364 AD)1910. 1. 25 From the Catholic Catechism
God’s law is made void by all who receive the mark of the beast. The assertion that the cross abolished the law will reveal its final fruit by exchanging God’s law with the law of man

“The fire that consumes the wicked purifies the earth. Everytrace of the curse is swept away. No eternally burning hell willkeep before the ransomed the fearful consequences of sin.
One reminder alone remains: Our Redeemer will ever bearthe marks of His crucifixion. Upon His wounded head, uponHis side, His hands and feet, are the only traces of the cruelwork that sin has wrought. Says the prophet, beholding Christin His glory: “He had bright beams coming out of His side: andthere was the hiding of His power.” Habakkuk 3:4, margin. That pierced side whence flowed the crimson stream that recon-ciled man to God—there is the Saviour’s glory, there “the hid-ing of His power.” “Mighty to save,” through the sacrifice ofredemption, He was therefore strong to execute justice uponthem that despised God’s mercy. And the tokens of His humili-ation are His highest honor; through the eternal ages thewounds of Calvary will show forth His praise and declare Hispower.” GC 674.

“He claimed that it was his own object toimprove upon the statutes of Jehovah. Therefore God permitted him to demon-strate the nature of his claims, to show theworking out of his proposed changes in thedivine law. His own work must condemnhim.... The whole universe must see deceiv-er unmasked.
For the good of the entire universethrough ceaseless ages, he must more fullydevelop his principles, that his chargesagainst the divine government might beseen in their true light by all created beings, and that the justice and mercy of God andthe immutability of His law might be forev-er placed beyond all question.
Satan’s rebellion was to be a lesson tothe universe through all coming ages—aperpetual testimony to the nature of sin andits^terrible results. The working out ofSatan’s rule, its effects upon both men andangels, would show what must be the fruitof setting aside the divine authority. Itwould testify that with the existence ofGod’s government is bound up the well-being of all the creatures He has made. Thus the history of this terrible experimentof rebellion was to be a perpetual safeguardto all holy beings, to prevent them frombeing deceived as to the nature of transgres-sion, to save them from committing sin, andsuffering its penalty.” PP 42-43

“Those who would share the benefits of the Saviour’s mediation should permit nothing to interfere with their duty to perfect holiness in the fear of God. The precious hours, instead of being given to pleasure, to display,or to gain seeking, should be devoted to an earnest, prayerful study of the word of truth. The subject of the sanctuary and the investigative judgment should be clearly understood by the people of God. All need a knowl-edge for themselves of the position and work of their great High Priest. Otherwise it will be impossible for them to exercise the faith which is essential at this time or to occupy the position which God designs them to fill.Every individual has a soul to save or to lose.”
“Each has a case pending at the bar of God. Each must meet the great Judge face to face. How important, then, that every mind contemplate often the solemn scene when the judgment shall sit and the books shall be opened, when, with Daniel, every individual must stand in his lot, at the end of the days. All who have received the light upon these subjects are to bear testimony of the great truths which God has committed to them. The sanctuary in heaven is thevery center of Christ’s work in behalf of men. It concerns every soul living upon the earth. It opens to view the plan of redemption, bringing us down to the very close of time and revealing the triumphant issue of the contest betweenrighteousness and sin. It is of the utmost importance that all should thoroughly investigate these subjects and be able to give an answer to^everyone that asketh them a reason of the hope that is in them.” GC 489
Ellen G. White: 1827~1915 She received the gift of prophecy and in 1845 she began to write and continued writing for around 70 years until her death. Jesus’ Entry
The Completion of Heavenly Firstborn Church
“In consequence of Adam’s sin, deathpassed upon the whole human race. Allalike go down into the grave. And throughthe provisions of the plan of salvation, allare to be brought forth from their graves.“There shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust;” “for as inAdam all die, even so in Christ shall all bemade alive.” Acts 24:15; I Corinthians15:22. But a distinction is made betweenthe two classes that are brought forth. “Allthat are in the graves shall hear His voice, and shall come forth; they that have donegood, unto the resurrection of life; andthey that have done evil, unto the resurrec-tion of damnation.” John 5:28, 29. Theywho have been “accounted worthy” of theresurrection of life are “blessed and holy.”“On such the second death hath no pow-er.” Revelation 20:6. But those who havenot, through repentance and faith, securedpardon, must receive the penalty of trans-gression—“the wages of sin.” They sufferpunishment varying in duration and inten-sity, “according to their works,” but finallyending in the second death. Since it isimpossible for God, consistently withHis justice and mercy, to save the sinnerin his sins, He deprives him of the exis-tence which his transgressions have for-feited and of which he has proved him-self unworthy. Says an inspired writer:“Yet a little while, and the wicked shallnot be: yea, thou shalt diligently consid-er his place, and it shall not be.” Andanother declares: “They shall be asthough^They had not been.” Psalm37:10; Obadiah 16. “By His life and His death, Christ proved that God’s justice did not destroyHis mercy, but that sin could be forgiven, and that the law is righteous, andcan be perfectly obeyed. Satan’s charges were refuted. God had given manunmistakable evidence of His love.” DA 762.
“Another deception was now to be brought forward. Satan declared that mercy destroyed justice, that the death of Christ abrogated the Father’s law. Had it been possiblefor the law to be changed or abrogated, then Christ need not have died. But to abrogate the law would be to immortalize transgression, and place the world under Satan’s con-trol. It was because the law was changeless, because man could be saved only through obedience to its precepts, that Jesus was lifted up on the cross. Yet the very means bywhich Christ established the law Satan represented as destroying it. Here will come the last conflict of the great controversy between Christ and Satan.” DA 762,763.

“Men will surely set up their laws to counterwork the laws of God. They will seek to compel theconsciences of others, and in their zeal to enforce these laws they will oppress their fellow men.
The warfare against God’s law, which was begun in heaven, will be continued until the end oftime. Every man will be tested. Obedience or disobedience is the question to be decided by the wholeworld. All will be called to choose between the law of God and the laws of men. Here the dividingline will be drawn. There will be but two classes. Every character will be fully developed; and all willshow whether they have chosen the side of loyalty or that of rebellion.” DA 763.
“He who reads every heart andtries every motive will leave none who
desire a knowledge of the truth, to bedeceived as to the issues of the controversy. The decree is not to be urged upon the peopleblindly. Everyone is to have sufficient light tomake his decision intelligently.
The Sabbath will be the great test of loyal-ty, for it is the point of truth especially contro-verted. When the final test shall be brought tobear upon men, then the line of distinctionwill be drawn between those who serve Godand those who serve Him not. While theobservance of the false sabbath in compliancewith the law of the state, contrary to the fourthcommandment, will be an avowal of alle-giance to a power that is in opposition to God,the keeping of the true Sabbath, in obedienceto God’s law, is an evidence of loyalty to theCreator. While one class, by accepting thesign of submission to earthly powers, receivethe mark of the beast, the other choosing the
token of allegiance to divine authority, receive the seal of God.” GC 605.

The law and the Man : Biblical Concept of Sanctification--- “By the word and the Spirit of God are opened to menthe great principles of righteousness embodied in His law. And since the law of God is “holy, and just, and good,” atranscript of the divine perfection, it follows that a character formed by obedience to that law will be holy. Christ is aperfect example of such a character. He says: “I have kept My Father’s commandments.” “I do always those thingsthat please Him.” John 15:10; 8:29. The followers of Christ are to become like Him—by the grace of God to formcharacters in harmony with the principles of His holy law. This is Bible sanctification.” GC 470.
“... when the great controversy shall be ended. Then, the plan of redemption hav-ing been completed, the character of God is revealed to all created intelligences. The precepts of His law are seen to be perfect and immutable. Then sin has mademanifest its nature, Satan his character. Then the extermination of sin will vindicateGod’s love and establish His honor before a universe of beings who delight to doHis will, and in whose heart is His law” DA 764.

“Their minds were blinded to His majesty andpower; they ceased to realize the holiness of Hischaracter, or the sacred, unchanging nature of Hisrequirements. As sin became general, it appeared lessand less sinful, and they finally declared that thedivine law was no longer in force; that it was con-trary to the character of God to punish transgression;and they denied that His judgments were to be visitedupon the earth. Had the men of that generationobeyed the divine law, they would have recognizedthe voice of God in the warning of His servant; buttheir minds had become so blinded by rejection oflight that they really believed Noah’s message to be adelusion.” PP 96.
“Israel as a nation had divorced herself fromGod. The natural branches of the olive treewere broken off. Henceforth its cere-monies would be meaningless, its services amockery.” DA 620.

Byterrible things in righteousness He will vindicate theauthority of His downtrodden law. The severity of theretribution awaiting the transgressor may be judged bythe Lord’s reluctance to execute justice. The nationwith which He bears long, and which He will not smiteuntil it has filled up the measure of its iniquity in God’s
account, will finally drink the cup of wrathunmixed with mercy.” GC 628.
“After the return from Babylon, much attention was given to religious
instruction. All over the country, synagogueswere erected, where the law was expounded bythe priests and scribes. And schools were estab-lished, which, together with the arts and sciences, professed to teach the principles of righteousness. But these agencies became corrupted. During thecaptivity, many of the people had received hea-then ideas and customs, and these were broughtinto their religious service. In many things theyconformed to the practices of idolaters.
As they departed from God, the Jews in a greatdegree lost sight of the teaching of the ritual service.... They trusted to the sacrifices and ordinances them-selves, instead of resting upon Him to whom theypointed. In order to supply the place of that whichthey had lost, the priests and rabbis multipliedrequirements of their own; and the more rigid theygrew, the less of the love of God was manifested. They measured their holiness by the multitude of
their ceremonies, while their hearts were filledwith pride and hypocrisy.” DA 29

“The student should learn to view the word as a whole, and to see the relation of its parts. He should gain a knowledge of its grand central theme, of God’s original purpose for the world, of the rise of the great controversy, and of the work of redemption. He should understand the nature of the two principles that are contending for supremacy, and should learn to trace their workingthrough the records of history and prophecy, to the great consummation. He should see how this controversy enters into every phase of human experience; how in every act of life he himself reveals the one or the other of the two antagonistic motives; and how, whether he will or not, he is even now deciding upon which side of the controversy he will be found.”(Ed 190)
