Why Should You Choose Horizontal Radiators? In the past radiators were always positioned in the horizontal position. These horizontal radiators tend to be long and low so that they could be fitted underneath a window so that they could warm up the draughts that were whistling through the cracks in the window frames. Nowadays we are much more efficient in insulating our homes against horrible winter weather. It has been a necessity for us to do this as utility bills are so high. Energy efficiency has meant that heaters do not necessarily have to be placed on outside walls as we have generally removed the problem of cold air seeping in. In fact, it better to place them on an inside wall these days so that the colder air within a room gets heated faster. The boring models of yesteryear are now being replaced by sleeker styles and often heaters are now a feature of a modern décor rather than an eyesore that needed bleeding all the time to stop rattling noises. The new generation of radiators have all been finished to the highest standards. They are produced in any colour imaginable that does not fade over time. The finish is hard wearing so that they are not easily chipped. This removes the need to repaint them every couple of years, unless, of course, you want to change the colour of your room and you want to blend the heaters in so that they do not stand out.

Why Should You Choose Horizontal Radiators?

In the past radiators were always positioned in the horizontal position. These horizontal

radiators tend to be long and low so that they could be fitted underneath a window so that they

could warm up the draughts that were whistling through the cracks in the window frames.

Nowadays we are much more efficient in insulating our homes against horrible winter weather.

It has been a necessity for us to do this as utility bills are so high. Energy efficiency has meant

that heaters do not necessarily have to be placed on outside walls as we have generally

removed the problem of cold air seeping in.

In fact, it better to place them on an inside wall these days so that the colder air within a room

gets heated faster.

The boring models of yesteryear are now being replaced by sleeker styles and often heaters are

now a feature of a modern décor rather than an eyesore that needed bleeding all the time to

stop rattling noises.

The new generation of radiators have all been finished to the highest standards. They are

produced in any colour imaginable that does not fade over time. The finish is hard wearing so

that they are not easily chipped. This removes the need to repaint them every couple of years,

unless, of course, you want to change the colour of your room and you want to blend the

heaters in so that they do not stand out.

However, not all radiators these days are the tubular kind. If you look hard at the many

websites on the internet, you will find that there are examples that are true contemporary

artworks that can complement other accessories on the wall, without going to the expense of

buying a painting. These kinds of heaters have their piping cleverly concealed behind a

stainless steel panel so there is no way of knowing that it is a radiator.

To install a new heating system is a big job. If you have just purchased heaters for your whole

house, it is best to employ a plumber to do the job unless you know what you are doing. It

involves checking pipes, lifting floorboards and draining the system of all water.

Water in the pipes is often black because of the sediment that has accumulated in them over

the years. If you are not careful you can ruin an expensive carpet with the sludge that will run

out. If you do not connect the piping properly and seal them, you may find yourself with an

unpleasant leak

A professional is not cheap, but you will save money in the end and if anything should go wrong

you will probably have a warranty to cover the work done. If in doubt the retailer who has sold

you the system in the first place may be the best to ask. If the firm does not install, they will

probably know someone who can do the work for you

Horizontal radiators are now produced in many shapes, sizes and materials and to have a look
