Information source : DAAD

Selection Procedure :

To get admission, a person is evaluated based on some 5, 6 or more criterias..some criterias r compulsory nsome r not...for each criteria its like the person ll be given points based on his/her performance...n if in t he

cumulative points the person scores good than the people who have applied along..he/she gets the admission!...

For Eg:

C-Compulsory O-Optional V-May be compulsory or optional depending on the course

I've assumed a scale of 5

1. Bachelor' %----4/5 (C)

2. GRE--------------3/5 (V)

3. TOEFL-----------4/5 (C)---for courses in english

4. Work Exp-------0/5 (O)--- Fresher

5. Projects n papers----2/5 (O)

6. German Proficiency---2/5 (O)

Cumulative---15/30...if this rating is better than the people who have applied along, the person gets the

admission

This is not the exact way of how the admission process is being done. there r lots of other factors considered like

weightage for criterias etc.

The Eg i've given is just to give an idea abt the system.

I have studied until A1 level in India .Is it enough ?

I am posting this question since a lot of people have been asking me this question . Its not about the levels you

have completed .Its about how good you converse in Deutsch .

Living in Germany :

I consider germany personally as the beautiful place in the world . Most of the cities have rivers enriching the

beauty of the place . Lets come to our perspective . Usually the living cost is 400 -500 euros /month .(which

includes compulsory health insurance , room rent and own expenses ). For students its always good to stayinside the university which is very reasonable (Studentenwerk).

As you can see, majority of the scholarships listed above do not have a dedicated website or atleast an e-mailID. They still rely on snail mail for receiving requests and the applications. Candidates need to factor in

sufficient time to ensure that the snail mail reaches well within the deadline.

This list is by no means exhaustive. Readers are welcome to leave any additional information they have in the

form of a comment.
