Diggers Forest School
Whole Mind, Whole Body, Whole Child
‘Discovering the gem that is Diggers, has proven to be absolute joy for our child.
The dedicated, friendly and helpful staff ensure that his days are full of fun and
adventures. I have every confidence that he is developing a life-long love for
learning through the exciting and enriching activities planned in their fantastic
outside space. It is very rare to find a pre- school with such outstanding staff and
facilities but this is why I cannot recommend Diggers highly enough.‘
-Liz – Diggers Parent
Dear Parent/Guardian
We are so proud of our Nursery, the children and the staff, as they all contribute to
our very special Forest School.
Through our passion and love of the outdoors, combined with a forward thinking
approach to education, we really believe we have created a Nursery second to
none. Which is why we would love the opportunity to show you around and see
first hand, just exactly what Diggers has to offer you and your family.
Caroline and I, hope this prospectus gives you a little insight into Diggers and we
look forward to meeting with you soon.
Warmest Regards,
Caroline Levitt

‘Forest School is a continuous long term programme that allows us to be reflective,
make mistakes, connections and have balance within our everyday lives’
"We love everything that Diggers stands for, and our son loves Diggers because the staff
loves Diggers. The time, effort and passion put into this nursery from everyone is visible
throughout and it is a real pleasure to be a part of this family unit."

‘The EYFS is fully covered in our daily & weekly activities at Diggers. From supporting
emotional development, through to mathematics, everything has its place’
‘There is something very special about Diggers and the setting is just magical. Our
two year old son is extremely happy there, bounds in in the morning and doesn’t
want to leave at the end of the day. He’s developing a great love of nature and
amazing stamina’

‘At Diggers all of our children are different and are encouraged to be so. We
support their interests and characters through our teaching and planning, there is
so much flexibility in our activities and how they run, each day is a journey and we
support whichever direction it takes’
‘Diggers is truly a brilliant place where children get to learn and play in an amazing
environment. Having so much focus on being outdoors was the first thing that
attracted us to the nursery. I believe part of the reason Josh has grown into such a
polite, friendly and most of all imaginative and adventurous boy is because of the
brilliant forest school education he's received over the last 2 years!’

Caroline - Founder
Our inspiration and figurehead, Caroline launched Diggers from
scratch in 2007 as an after school club locally. Her vision and
determination have created something truly special, giving
children positive experiences and confidence that will stay with
them for life. Always positive and cheerful, and despite suffering
a major stroke in 2013 Caroline has an infectious enthusiasm for
life that keeps us all going.
Kayleigh – Manager
A passion for Early Years education captured Kayleigh when she
undertook her Level 3 Childcare qualification, as it soon spurred her
on to undertake a Pedagogy in Montessori teaching and finally her
Level 4 qualification . Kayleigh has a wealth of knowledge and her
professional approach to caring for young children has
strengthened our senior management team.
‘Our son has been at Diggers for 2 years, he clearly understands boundaries,
where previously he didn't but still allowing his big personality to thrive. He has
been very loved and appreciated for who he is. We love the way he comes home
with 3 muddy sets of clothes, exactly how boys should be. We are even going to
defer a year of school so he can enjoy Diggers more!’

Diggers Fees
‘Our children love Diggers! Throughout the whole session, children are active, engaged
and learning. Diggers encourages teamwork across the school, with children working
together in mixed-age groups. The Diggers Team have achieved the perfect balance of
exploring and learning, making the most of the great outdoors!’
-Vickie Farrow Headteacher Foxfield C of E Primary School
"I would highly recommend Diggers to anybody. The setting is what any child would
dream of, the staff are very positive, attentive and enthusiastic. My little boy is really
animated by Diggers, he is developing more confidence and is pleased with his
achievements. He likes to show me things when I collect him, talks about Diggers in
conversation at home and most importantly, he enjoys being a part of Diggers."
-Rebecca – Diggers Parent
"Our son has grown so much since he started at Diggers. He is excited to go and we
barely get a goodbye! We love the teaching they do and all the activities our son gets to
experience." "I like reading books and being baker-baker."
-Jan – Diggers Parent
‘Joseph has been going to Diggers for about 18 months. He was unhappy in his traditional
nursery and leaving him was always a tearful time for him. I heard about Diggers and we
both fell in love with the concept on our first visit. He settled immediately and has never
shed a tear on my departure. The amount of space he has to explore means his
confidence has increased ten fold. The staff are aware, involved but don't mollycoddle
them. He is excited each week when I receive the activity forecast and we sit for long
periods looking through the photos on the fb page - it's a great opportunity for him to
explain places, people and circumstances with passion and enthusiasm. His knowledge of
nature and use of his imagination has sky rocketed - as a family we enjoy walks in the
woods with new vision. I feel very lucky that Diggers exists and I had the opportunity to
send my little boy there during his early years to embrace his childhood in the best way
possible.’
-Claire – Diggers Parent
"We are always out and about doing things and I just love it all"
-Joseph – Diggers Child
“I like going up to the woods and making things and climbing trees in Diggers.”
