Who we are…

I Care Atlanta, Inc. (ICA) continuously pursue its mission to serve the homeless, the hungry, and the low income families that make up part of our Atlanta community. Each day, 365 days a year, ICA collects food donated by supermarkets, grocery stores, and other generous businesses in and around the city. This year we are on track to deliver well over 300 tons of donations to shelters such as the Salvation Army, The Atlanta Union Mission, and Norcross Christian Ministries, Atlanta Rescue Mission as well as church pantries that serve needy families. I Care Atlanta provide the link between the stores who have the food and those who need it.

Due to the cutbacks in government funding we recognize the importance in community based organizations to pull together and address societal problems at a local level. Without the help of our charitable donors would we be able to continue our efforts.

Anthony DelgadoPresident and FounderAnthony is living proof that people can change with the helping hand of another. Fighting a losing battle with alcohol and drug addiction, he found himself on the streets of downtown Atlanta six years ago. After living at various parks and shelters, Anthony witnessed firsthand the coldness of homelessness. A few chance encounters would change the direction of his life for the better and now giving back through My Brother’s Keepers.

Nancy DelgadilloExecutive DirectorNancy met Anthony in 2009 and was so impressed by the work he was doing, that she soon became involved in his program. She began by optimizing the website, creating marketing materials for branding and resources, the GED program, developing initiatives such as Operation Comfort, the Mentor Program, and the new Veterans Program as this issue hits close to home for both Nancy and Anthony. Nancy served in Iraq in 2003 as an Army Soldier.

Mary BagwellDirector – GED CenterMary came across an article about Anthony and My Brother’s Keepers on a local newspaper in 2008, and she called to make a donation. She started volunteering by delivering food to the homeless and soon helped launch the GED Center by becoming a certified instructor. Little did she know, she would be running the center and teaching along with the excellent volunteers to help homeless and low-income individuals acquire their GED.
