Who Is the Most Disliked Judge On DWTS?

Dancing with the Stars is a greatly popular TV dance show created by ABC. It is in fact a spin-off of the equally well-liked BBC series known as Strictly Come Dancing. Dancing with the Stars has also been screened in the UK, but it looks as if the 14th series will not be screened there.

The formats of both shows are comparable and they both bear certain similarities to the genre of reality shows in general. On the panels of talent reality show judges in general, you get a good guy, a bad guy and a medium one to balance them out. So who is the most hated judge on Dancing with the Stars? Well, there are three judges: one American, one Brit and one British Italian. These are, in order: Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli. They all have a history of dancing, but their careers have not followed the same paths.

Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli have been brought in from Strictly Come Dancing and are knowledgeable judges. Len Goodman is a professional judge of ballroom dancing and has been for quite a while. Bruno Tonioli is an experienced choreographer. As the series develops, the individual tendencies of the judges becomes more clear; their personal likes become clear.

It is simple to imagine that some Americans may ask themselves why they require foreign judges on the panel of their dancing show. Some people do not like this, but there can be no aspersions cast on their ability in and knowledge of dancing and judging dancers.

Len Goodman can become very critical of a dancer's style and Bruno Tonioli frequently offers critical advice on how to enhance a dancing routine and occasionally this sounds harsh.

Carrie Ann Inaba can dance but has no previous experience judging dancing and has no discernible ballroom dancing skill whatsoever. She is basically an actress and singer who has some dancing experience. This wrankles with some of the dancers and the audience alike.

No one would say that she is not a capable dancer and that she should not judge dancers, but possibly not ballroom dancers. Some critics have also noticed that she is a lot more critical of female dancers than of their male partners. There might be some truth to this because there has been a shift in her style of late to being more complimentary about the female dancers.

These couple of facts concerning Carrie Ann Inaba have led to her being chosen as the judge that people like to hate on Dancing with the Stars. Perhaps she is working on her reputation to right the criticism of gender favouritism or perhaps she likes being the villain of the show.
