Brief introduction to the religion of Islam and its founder

What is ISLAM’s relationship with other faiths?
JUDAISM: Islam is very closely related to Judaism, sharing common herit-
age in Patriarch Adam, Noah, Abraham and Hebrew prophets Isaac,
Jacob, Joseph, David, Solomon & Moses [A]. Moses [A] is the prophet
mentioned the most by name in the Holy Quran. Islam view itself as the
fulfillment of God’s covenant towards all mankind for conveying Abra-
hamic monotheism. Muslims believes that Prophet Muhammad [S] is the
fulfillment of the old testament prophecy of Deuteronomy 18:18, Isaiah
29:12 & Ch. 42, & mentioned by name in Song of Songs 5:16 in Hebrew.
"O Children of Israel! Remember My favor that I bestowed upon
you, and that I preferred you to all others (for My Message at
that age)" [Quran 2:122]
"And those to whom We have given the Book recognize (the fi-
nal) Messenger (the venerable Muhammad [S]) as they doubt-
lessly identify their own sons. But certainly, a party of them is
deliberately concealing the truth" [Quran 2:146]
CHRISTIANITY: Islam is closest faith to Christianity. Jesus Christ [A] is
mentioned in the Holy Quran five time more than prophet Muhammad
[S] by name. Islam is the only non-Christian faith, which makes it an
article of faith to believe in Jesus [A]. No Muslim is a Muslim if he does
not believe in Jesus [A]. Muslims believe that he was one of the mighti-
est Prophets of God & that He was born miraculously to the virgin Mary
[A]. Muslims believes that Jesus [A] was the promised Messiah to the
Jews of Palestine. Muslims believes in miracles performed by Jesus [A],
gave life to the dead with God’s permission, healed the born blinds, and
the lepers with God’s permission. Muslims believe that Prophet Muham-
mad [S] is the fulfillment of the prophecy made by Jesus Christ [A] in
John 16:7-14 as being the “Spirit of Truth” & the “Comforter” to come
after Jesus [A] & guide Mankind into all Truth & glorify Him.
"Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah giveth thee glad tidings
of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of
Mary, held in honor in this world and the Hereafter and of (the
company of) those nearest to Allah" [Quran 3:45]
"She said: "O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man hath
touched me?" He said: "Even so: Allah createth what He willeth:
When He hath decreed a plan, He but saith to it, ‘Be’, and it is!"
"And Allah will teach him the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the
Gospel" [Quran 3:47-48]
"(recall) when Jesus, the son of Mary said: ‘O Children of Israel,
indeed I am (a Messenger) sent to you by Allah, confirming the
Torah, the Book which came before me, and bearing the good
news of (the pleasant arrival) of (the Esteemed) Messenger
(peace be upon him) who will come after me, whose name is
Ahmad. But when he came to them with clear signs, they said:
‘this is evident sorcery!" [Quran 61:6]
HINDUISM: Hinduism is perceived as a polytheistic & pantheistic religion
with belief in the anthropomorphic forms of God and that God incarnates
into various natural forms (Avatars). Most Hindus would profess to be-
lieve in multiple Gods, Some believe in three gods, some in thousands
and some others in millions of Gods. However, learned Hindus, who are
well versed in the scriptures such as Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads and The
Vedas insists that a Hindu shall believe in and worship only one true
universal God of the universe and reject idolatry. Muslims believe that
prophet Muhammad [S] is the fulfillment of the various prophecies men-
tioned in many Hindu scriptures such as Bhavishya Purana, Bhagvata
Purana, Atharvaveda, Rigveda, Samveda & Yajurved of his forthcoming
as the “Narashangsa” & “Kalki Avatar” spreading Truth & removing evils.
BUDDHISM: Buddhism teaches to attain self-realization through Meditation
and Detachment from the material world. Islamic spirituality sympathizes
with this, however keeping a firm belief in the absolute goodness of God
and his purposes for his creation. Islam alleviates God’s creation & di-
rects human desires and day to day actions to serve God the better and
rather Attach to the world properly. Buddha prophesized the advent of a
“Maitreya” (The benevolent) which Muslims believe to be Prophet Mu-
hammad [S] fulfilling the prophecy as the promised “Maitreya”.

A brief introduction to the religion of
ISLAM and its blessed founder
Quranic Reflections “..Will they not then believe?”
“Then which is it of the favors of your Lord will ye deny?” [55:13]
"Were they created of nothing, or were they themselves the creators? Or
did they create the heavens and the earth?.." [52:35-36]
"Not without purpose and good reason did We (God) create heavens and
earth and all between them!" [38:27]
"I have only created Jinns and Men, that they may serve Me" [51:56]
Does ISLAM teaches HATRED, EXTREMISM,
TERRORISM & VIOLENCE?
The answer is off-course NOT AT ALL! The universal Islamic greeting
is “Salaam Alaikum!” which means “Peace Be Unto You!” ALLAH (God)
says in the Glorious Quran:
"…Whosoever kills an innocent human being, it shall be as if he
has killed all mankind, and whosoever saves the life of one, it
shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind…" [5:32]
"And let not the hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be
just: that is nearer to righteousness" [5:8]
Acts of Terrorism, Extremism, Indiscriminate violence & Hatred are out
-rightly & unequivocally condemned unanimously by religious scholars
from all the different schools of thoughts within Islam. There are many
fatwas/rulings & authoritative scholarly books written and preached
globally condemning terrorism, suicide attacks & indiscriminate vio-
lence as being strictly prohibited (Haram in Shariah) and the perpetra-
tors being criminals and sinners regardless of any geo-political, eco-
nomic, social reasoning umbrella and caveat used by the perpetrators.
No reason shall justify terrorism & killings
whatsoever & committed by whomsoever!
Islam is the only religion that has in it’s prime
doctrine, the Holy Quran, acknowledgement
of existence of other faiths and traditions and
thereby also provide protection to the people
following other religions evidently so all
through the Islamic history. Almighty ALLAH says:
"Let there be no compulsion in religion" [Quran 2:256]
"Say, The truth is from your Lord: Let him who please believe,
and let him who please disbelieve" [Quran 18:29]
"To you (unbelievers) be your religion, and to me be mine reli-
gion" [Quran 109:6]
One of the many scholarly reflections:
“Muhammad [S] adhered meticulously to the charter he forged for Medina, which -
grounded as it was in the Quranic injunction, "Let there be no compulsion in reli-
gion" (2:256) - is arguably the first mandate for religious tolerance in human history.”
― Huston Smith, Author and Professor of Religion at University of California, Berkeley.
Prophet MUHAMMAD [S] The Greatest [Contd.]
"If any religion had the chance of ruling over England, nay Europe
within the next hundred years, it could be Islam." “I have always held
the religion of Muhammad in high estimation because of its wonderful
vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that
assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can
make itself appeal to every age. I have studied him - the wonderful
man and in my opinion far from being an anti-Christ, he must be
called the Savior of Humanity."
"I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the
modern world he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that
would bring it the much needed peace and happiness” [Sir George
Bernard Shaw in 'The Genuine Islam,' Vol. 1, No. 8, 1936]
"How one man single-handedly, could weld warring tribes and Bedou-
ins into a most powerful and civilized nation in less than two dec-
ades?.. The lies which well-meaning zeal has heaped round this man
are disgraceful to ourselves only.. A silent great soul, one of that who
cannot but be in earnest. He was to kindle the world; the Worlds Mak-
er had ordered so [Thomas Carlyle in 'Heroes and Hero Worship' 1840]
"His readiness to undergo persecutions for his beliefs, the high moral
character of the men who believed in him and looked up to him as
leader, and the greatness of his ultimate achievement – all argue his
fundamental integrity. To suppose Muhammad an impostor raises
more problems than it solves. Moreover, none of the great figures of
history is so poorly appreciated in the West as Muham-
mad." [Montgomery Watt, Mohammad at Mecca, Oxford 1953]
"I wanted to know the best of the life of one who holds today an un-
disputed sway over the hearts of millions of mankind. I became more
than ever convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for
Islam in those days in the scheme of life. It was the rigid simplicity,
the utter self-effacement of the Prophet the scrupulous regard for
pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidi-
ty, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and in his own mission.
These and not the sword carried everything before them and sur-
mounted every obstacle." [Mahatma Gandhi, Young India,1924]

In the first three years of his mission forty people (men and women) accepted
Islam. This small group comprised of youth as well as older people from a
wide range of economic and social background. The Prophet [S] was directed
by a revelation to start preaching Islam to everyone. He [S] then began to
recite revelations to people in public and invite them to Islam. The Quraysh,
leaders of Mecca, took his preaching with hostility due to their perceived
implications of the message & loss of their importance, economies & social
status. The most hostile to the prophet [S] was his own uncle Abu Lahab and
his wife. Initially, they and other leaders of Quraysh tried to bribe the Prophet
[S] with money and power including an offer to make him king if He were to
abandon his message. When this did not work, they tried to convince his
uncle Abu Talib to accept the best young man of Mecca in place of Prophet
Muhammad [S] and to allow them to kill the Prophet [S]. His uncle tried to
persuade the Prophet [S] to stop preaching but the Prophet [S] said: "O
Uncle, if they were to put the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left
hand to abandon my cause, I would never stop. I will keep preaching until
Allah made the truth prevail or I died in the attempt."
The Arab pagans began to persecute Muslims by beating, torture and boycott
of their businesses for their beliefs. The first person to die was a Muslim wom-
en, Sumayya [R]. The Prophet [S] experienced demeaning abuse, mockery
and torture on a daily basis in Mecca for 13 years. Not only did he resist
engaging in violence, he did not respond to a single insult with another insult
and commanded the same to his followers. When the persecution became
unbearable for most Muslims, the Prophet [S] advised them in the fifth year
of his mission (615 CE) to emigrate to Abyssinia (Ethiopia) where Ashabah
(Negus Asham, a Christian) was the ruler. Negus allowed the emigrants to
stay under his protection after he investigated their Muslim belief and heard
the revelations about Jesus [A] and Mary [A] which appears in Chapter 19,
entitled Mary [A], of the Quran. The emigrants were allowed freedom of wor-
ship in Abyssinia.
In 622 CE, the leaders of the Quraysh conspired in a failed attempt to assas-
sinate the Prophet [S]. Gabriel [A] informed the Prophet [S] of the plan and
instructed him to leave Mecca immediately. The Prophet [S], after making
arrangements to return the properties entrusted to him by several nonbeliev-
ers, left with Abu Bakr [R] in the night when the assassination was planned.
They traveled north to Medina, A city where some Muslims from Mecca mi-
grated before and many inhabitants already accepted Islam in large numbers,
about two hundred fifty miles from Mecca. In spite of all the best scouts of his
enemies, Allah protected the Prophet [S] and He [S] arrived safely in Quba, a
suburb of Medina. This event is known as the ‘Hijra’ (migration) and the Is-
lamic calendar begins with this event. The people of Medina greeted him with
great enthusiasm, love & compassion. One by one Muslims, men and women,
of Mecca left for Medina leaving behind their properties and homes. To insure
the peace and tranquility, the Prophet [S] proposed a treaty defining terms of
conduct, A Constitution, first ever, for all the inhabitants of Medina. It was
ratified by all residents— Muslims, non-Muslim Arabs and Jews of Medina.
After his emigration to Medina, the enemies of Islam increased their assault
from all sides. The Battles of Badr, Uhud and Allies were fought. Eventually, in
630 CE, the time came where the Prophet Muhammad [S] had overpowered
his enemies and oppressors and finally conquered the city of Mecca with an
open declaration of Amnesty, Peace, Safety and Security equally for all inhab-
itants with no-retaliation demanded, First time ever such a conquest in the
human history! The day of conquest became at the same time a true ‘day of
mercy’. Prophet [S] said to his enemies "I will treat you as Prophet Joseph [A]
treated his brothers. There is no reproach against you. Go to your homes,
and you are all free.” The people of Mecca then accepted Islam including the
enemies of the Prophet, eventually faith entered their hearts. Within a year,
almost whole Arabia accepted Islam. "Truth has come and Falsehood will
neither start nor will it reappear" [Quran 17:81]. Two months after
performing pilgrimage in 632 CE with 120,000 Muslims, Prophet Muhammad
[S] fell ill and after several days died on Monday, 12 Rabi al-Awwal, the elev-
enth year after Hijra (632 CE) in Medina, which hosts his resting place.
Prophet Muhammad [S] lived a most simple, austere and modest life. He [S]
and his family used to go without cooked meal several days at a time, relying
only on dates, dried bread and water. During the day He [S] was the busiest
man performing his duties in many roles all at once, as head of state, chief
justice, commander-in-chief, arbitrator, instructor and family man. He [S]
was the most devoted man at night, spending one- to two-thirds of every
night in prayers and meditation. The Prophet's [S] possession consisted of
mats, blankets, jugs and other simple things even when he was the ruler of
whole Arabia. He left nothing to be inherited except a gifted mule, few ammu-
nition and a piece of gifted land. Among his last words were: "We the commu-
nity of Prophets are not inherited. Whatever we leave is for charity." All sin-
cere Muslims try to follow the Quran and the Prophet’s [S] example and
teachings. He [S] is the source of spiritual enlightenment, human perfection &
salvation of all Muslims. The accounts of every aspect of his life has been
preserved (including his family life) by his noble Companions [R] in the Hadith
collection. He [S] has served as an example for all Muslims in all periods to
modern times. He [S] will remain a model example for all of humanity till the
end of time. [S]-Peace be upon him [R]- May Allah be pleased with him/

Who is prophet Muhammad?
(Peace be upon him)
Short biography:
Prophet Muhammad [S], son of Abdullah, son of Abdul Muttalib, from the tribe
of Banu Hashim, from progeny of Quraysh who were from progeny of Kinanah
who were from progeny of Prophet Ismail [A], Elder son of Prophet Ibrahim
[A], was born at the early dawn of Monday, the 12th of Rabi ul Awwal, in the
year 571 C.E. in the city of Mecca. His [S] father died before he was born and
mother Amina [A] died when he was six years old. He was raised first by his
grand father, Abdul Muttalib, when he had reached eight years in age his
grandfather died. He [S] was then taken care by his uncle Abu Talib.
Prophet Muhammad [S], by the age of 25 had travelled to Syria and Yemen
for merchandize and had become increasingly famous for his decency, brav-
ery, compassion, fairness, and his honesty and reliability in commercial life
and was titled as “Al-Amin” (The Trustworthy). Upon hearing of Prophet Mu-
hammad’s [S] impressive credentials, Khadijah [R], a merchant widow, asked
Prophet Muhammad [S] to take some merchandise for trade to Syria. Soon
after this successful trip, Khadijah [R] proposed marriage to Prophet Muham-
mad [S] through a relative. Prophet Muhammad [S] accepted the proposal. At
that time, Khadijah [R] was twice widowed and forty years old and Prophet
[S] was twenty five. They lived together for almost a quarter of a century,
until the death of Khadija [R] about 8-9 years after the revelation of the
Qur’an. Khadijah [R] and Prophet Muhammad [S] were the parents of six
children - four daughters and two sons.
The Holy sanctuary Ka'ba, in Mecca, was filled with three hundred sixty idols.
The original, pristine message of Prophet Ibrahim [A] was lost, and it was
filled instead with Superstitions, Idolatry, Myths & Evils such as Killings, Adul-
tery, Tyranny, Intoxication, Oppression, Obscenity, Sorcery & Ignorance to
the extent that a born child girl would be buried alive and considered a curse
& social disgrace. A small group of people always detested the corruptions
and maintained pure their practice of the monotheistic religion taught by
Prophets Ibrahim [A] and Ismail [A]. Prophet Muhammad [S] was also from
these few people practicing monotheism and righteousness. He [S] very often
used to retreat in an isolated cave called “Hira” on the Mountain top called
“Noor” (light) for contemplation and worship of Almighty God. Prophet Mu-
hammad [S] was forty when, during his one of many retreats to Mount Hira
during the month of Ramadan, he received the first revelation from Allah
brought by the Archangel Gabriel [A]. On this first appearance, Gabriel [A]
said to Prophet Muhammad [S]: "Iqraa" meaning Read. Prophet [S] replied,
"I cannot read," as He [S] had not received any formal education and did not
know how to read or write. The Angel Gabriel [A] then embraced him until He
[S] reached the limit of his endurance and after releasing said: "Iqraa"
Prophet’s [S] answer was the same as before. Gabriel [A] repeated the em-
brace for the third time, and said: “Read In the name of thy Lord and
Sustainer, Who created; Created man, out of a (mere) clot of con-
gealed blood; Read and thy Lord is Most Generous; He Who taught
(the use of) the Pen; Taught man that which he knew not” [Chapter
96] after which the Prophet [S] repeated these verses revealed in Arabic.
These revelations are the first five verses of the Glorious Quran. Thus it was
in the year 610 CE the revelation began. Prophet Muhammad [S] was terrified
by the whole experience of the first revelation and left the cave of Mt. Hira.
When He [S] reached his home, tired and frightened, He [S] asked his wife:
‘cover me, cover me,’ in a blanket. After his awe had somewhat abated, his
wife Khadijah [R] asked him about the reason of his great anxiety and fear.
She then assured him by saying: "Allah will not let you down because you are
kind to relatives, you speak only the truth, you help the poor, the orphan and
the needy, and you are an honest man. Khadijah [R] then consulted with her
cousin Waraqa who was an old, saintly man possessing knowledge of previous
scriptures. Waraqa confirmed to her that the visitor was none other than the
Angel Gabriel [A] who had come to Moses [A]. He then added that Muham-
mad [S] is the expected Prophet. Khadijah [R] accepted the revelation as
truth and was the first person to accept Islam. She supported her husband in
every hardship. She died at the age of sixty-five in the month of Ramadan in
620 CE. Gabriel [A] visited the Prophet [S] as commanded by Allah revealing
Ayat (meaning signs, verses) in Arabic over a period of twenty-three
years. All the revealed verses ending in 632 CE were compiled in the book
known as Qur’an, which is the literal & the final word of God to humanity. The
Prophet’s [S] sayings, actions and approvals are recorded separately in huge
collections known as Hadiths recorded by his companions [R].
The mission of Prophet [S] was to restore the worship of the One True God,
the creator and sustainer of the universe, as taught by Prophet Ibrahim [A]
and all Prophets of God, and to demonstrate and complete the laws of moral,
ethical, legal, and social conduct and all other matters of significance for the
humanity at large. The first few people who followed this message were: his
cousin Ali [R], his servant Zayd ibn Harithah [R], his friend Abu Bakr [R] and
his wife [R] and daughters [R].

About ISLAM
ISLAM is a Semitic religion of absolute monotheism which is firm belief in
one true universal God—ALLAH in Arabic, who is The Originator, The Crea-
tor, The Cherisher, The Sustainer & The Maintainer of everything that ex-
ists. To Allah alone belongs all things in the created cosmos. Allah is The
Compassionate, The Merciful, The Loving Kind, The Eternal, The Absolute,
The Unique, The Infinite, The Omnipresent, The All Mighty, The All Know-
ing, The Just, The Judge, The Watchful, The Subtle, The Patient One, The
Wise, with 99 names given in the glorious Quran, The holy book of Islam,
The last testament revealed onto Allah’s final Prophet Muhammad [S].
Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world with well over
1.6 Billion (A quarter of all) human beings as its adherent Muslims
(“Muslim” literally means one who bow humbly (obey) to Allah’s Will). The
basic creed of the religion of Islam is reflected in the following belief:
"I bear witness that there is no Deity (worthy of worship) except
Allah (The One True God) and I bear witness that Muhammad [S] is
the Messenger of Allah”
Holy Quran is the divinely revealed literal word of God, The last & final
testament to Mankind from God of Abraham [A]. It mentions many Proph-
ets like Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, Moses, Jacob, Joseph and
Jesus [A]. All the Prophets had brought the same message, i.e., belief in
one true God, upright human conduct and belief in the accountability of
human acts at the end of time and reject Polytheism, Idolatry, Injustice,
Oppression & Obscenity. The Holy Quran begins with the following verses,
“Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds;
Most Gracious, Most Merciful;
Master of the Day of Judgment “ [1:1-3]
Allah revealed the following verses about himself:
“Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;
Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;
And there is none like unto Him (in the creation)” [chapter 112]
Islam teaches that the essence of Almighty Allah is inconceivable to human
mind and Allah does not incarnate or be confined/represented in an image,
idol, human, animal or object. Allah is transcendent and beyond anything
that our mind may conceive of Him. Islamic theology rejects Dualism,
Anthropomorphism & Polytheism as being incorrect in the light of Quranic
& Prophetic teachings and encourage reasoning and reflection.
“..There is nothing whatsoever like unto Him..” [42:11]
“Glory be to Allah, far above all that they associate with
Him.” [59:23]
Allah is the source of all creation and that human beings are the
best of His creation and His Vicegerent (Caliph) on earth. He communicates
by inspiring them towards goodness and by sending impeccable Prophets
who delivers His message to people. Revelation is sent to define morality,
ethics and guidance to mankind in establishing and differentiating between
Good and Evil. Human beings are given intellect, reasoning, free-will and
authority in-order to know Allah and to serve Him the better with volition
and peace. Evil & Suffering exists as a test for human kind.
“He Who created Death and Life, that He may test which of you is
best in deed: and He is the Almighty, Most Forgiving" [67:2]
Islamic theology, thus, represents the ultimate balance of reconciliation
between faith-revelation & reason, free-will-causality & determinism, Best
explains existence of Evil (theodicy) & diversity in Allah’s creation and his
manifestations. Islamic philosophy challenges Atheism & Agnosticism and
regards these to be incoherent and irrational requiring blind leap of faith.
Islam further challenges modern/postmodern secular (Godless)
humanism as being incoherent and meaningless on ontological grounds.
Post-Modern Western principles of Universal Human Rights, Freedom of
Expression, Democracy, Women Rights, Animal Rights, Environmentalism,
Equality, Justice, Pluralism & Tolerance are in full moral congruence with
traditional Islamic principles that had been taught & practiced for centuries
by Muslims however still being with-in the Islamic moral principles and not
(Godless) Secularity with no firm ontological moral basis.
Islam, unlike many other religions, is not named after a person or tribe. It
is universal religion practiced by people of all races, languages & color.
“It is He Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad [S]) with Guid-
ance and the Religion of Truth, to proclaim it (its truthfulness) over
all religion: and enough is Allah for a Witness.” [48:28]
Islamic teaching of Salvation and Reconciliation of mankind with Almighty
Allah lies in following the footsteps of the Holy Prophet Muhammad [S] in
all his outward and the inward forms i.e., in the letter and the spirit. Islam
is a diverse tradition with theological schools, Jurisprudence/Islamic law
schools & Mystic orders. Islam represents the divinely ordained combina-
tion of the Faith, The Law (Islam & Iman) & Mysticism-Sufism (Ehsaan).
Some Sayings of Prophet MUHAMMAD [S] “All mankind are from Adam and Eve - an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action.” (Baihiqi) “The worldly comforts are not for me. I am like a traveler, who takes a rest under a tree in the shade and then goes on his way.” (Tirmidhi) “Paradise lies beneath the feet of your mother” (Ahmad) “I command you to treat women kindly…” (Bukhari) “The best of you are those who are best to the women.”; “Women are the twin halves of men.” (Tirmidhi) “He is not of us who is not affectionate to the little ones, and does not re-spect the old; and he is not of us, who does not order which is lawful, and prohibits that which is unlawful.” (Tirmidhi) “A Muslim who plants a tree or sows a field, from which man, birds and animals can eat, is committing an act of charity.” (Muslim) “The most excellent Jihad (struggle) is that for the conquest of self.” (Bukhari) “Allah will not give mercy to anyone, except those who give mercy to other creatures.” (Abu Dawud) “When you see a person who has been given more than you in money and beauty, look to those, who have been given less.” (Muslim) “Verily, a man teaching his child manners is better than giving one bushel of grain in alms.” (Muslim) “The best richness is the richness of the soul.” (Bukhari) “Keep yourselves far from envy; because it eats up and takes away good actions, like a fire eats up and burns wood.” (Abu Dawud) “Strive always to excel in virtue and truth.” (Bukhari) “Do you know what is better than charity and fasting and prayer? It is keep-ing peace and good relations between people, as quarrels and bad feelings destroy mankind.” (Muslims & Bukhari) “Conduct yourself in this world, as if you are here to stay forever; prepare for eternity as if you have to die tomorrow.” (Bukhari) “The strong person is not the one who can wrestle someone else down. The strong person is the one who can control himself when he is an-gry.” (Bukhari & Muslim) “Cleanliness is the one half of belief” (Muslim)
Prophet MUHAMMAD [S] The Greatest
The following are a few testimonies given by famous intellectuals and scholars about
Prophet Muhammad [S]
“My choice of Muhammad to lead the list of the world's most influential
persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others,
but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on
both the religious and secular level." (Jesus Christ [A] mentioned third in
the list) [The 100: A Ranking Of The Most Influential Persons In History,
New York, 1978, p. 33 by Michael H. Hart, Professor of astronomy, phys-
ics and the history of science]
“If greatness of purpose, smallness of means, and astonishing results
are the three criteria of a human genius, who could dare compare any
great man in history with Muhammad? The most famous men created
arms, laws, and empires only. They founded, if anything at all, no more
than material powers which often crumbled away before their eyes. This
man moved not only armies, legislations, empires, peoples, dynasties,

p. 235 by Reverend Bosworth Smith (1794-1884) Late Fellow of Trinity
College, Oxford.]
