zar's Son

zar had a very good son.

. The name of this son was Ibr h m.

Ibrh m used to watch people.

He saw them prostrating to idols.

And he saw them worshipping idols.

Ibrh m knew that idols were only stone.

And he knew that idols could not speak or hear.

And he knew that idols could neither harm nor benefit anyone.

He saw that flies were sitting on the idols, and they could not even defend themselves

from that.

And he saw that mice were eating the idols food and they could not prevent it.

: Ibrh m said to himself, Why are people prostrating to idols?

: And he asked himself, Why do people ask idols for things?

Ibr h ms Advice

Ibrh m said to his father,

, Oh my father, why do you worship these idols?

And Oh my father, why do you prostrate to these idols?

And Oh my father, why do you ask these idols for things?

Indeed, these idols cannot speak or hear.

And indeed these idols cannot harm or benefit anyone!

Why are you giving them food and drink?

Oh my father, indeed these idols cannot eat or drink!

Ibrh m was advising his people, but the people became angry and did not understand.

.Ibrh m said, I will break the idols when the people go, and then they will understand

Ibr h m Breaks The Idols

A day of d arrived and the people became happy.

And the people went out to celebrate the d and the children went out too.

: And Ibr h m's father went out and asked Ibr h m, Arent you going out with us?

: Ibrh m replied, I am sick!

The people went away and Ibr h m remained at home.

: Ibrh m came to the idols and said to them, Can't you speak? Can't you hear?

! This is food and drink. Wont you eat? Wont you drink?

But the idols kept quiet because they were stones which cannot speak.

: Ibrh m said, What is wrong with you? Why don't you speak? (37: 92)

And the idols kept quiet and did not speak.

At that Ibr h m became angry and grabbed the axe.

He hit the idols with the axe and broke them.

But he left the biggest idol and hung the axe around its neck.

Who Did This?

The people returned and entered the house of the idols.

They wanted to prostrate to the idols, since it was a day of d.

But the people were amazed and stunned.

And they felt sad and angry.

: They asked, Who did this to our gods? (21: 59)

: They said, We heard a youngster called Ibr h m mentioning them. (21: 60)

: They asked, Are you the one who did this to our gods, Oh Ibr h m? (21: 62)

He replied, No, rather the biggest one of them did it; so ask them if they canspeak. (21: 63)

But the people knew that the idols were only stones.

And they knew that stones cannot hear or speak.

And they knew that the biggest idol was a stone too.

And that it was not capable of walking or moving.

And that it was not capable of breaking the idols.

: So they told Ibr h m, You know that the idols cannot speak.

Ibrh m responded, So how can you worship the idols while they cannot harm or benefitanyone?

And how can you ask the idols for things when they cannot speak or hear?

Don't you understand anything!? Don't you think!?

So the people were silenced and became aSh med.

A Cold Fire

: The people gathered together and asked, What shall we do?

Indeed, Ibr h m has broken the idols and insulted the gods.

:

The people asked, What should Ibr h m's punishment be? What should his requital be?

: The answer was, Burn him, and help your gods. (21: 68)

: And that is what happened: they lit a fire and threw Ibr h m into it.

But Allah helped Ibr h m and said to the fire,

Oh fire, be cool and peaceful for Ibr h m. (21: 69)

And that is what happened: the fire was cool and peaceful for him.

The people saw that the fire was not harming Ibr h m.

And they saw that Ibr h m was happy and that he was safe and healthy.

They were amazed and bewildered.

Who Is My Lord?

:

That night Ibr h m saw a star and he said, This is my Lord.

!: But when the star disappeared he said, No! This is not my Lord.

: Ibrh m saw the moon and he said, This is my Lord.

!: But when the moon disappeared he said, No! This is not my Lord.

: The sun rose and he said, This is my Lord; this is the greatest. (6: 78)

!: But when the sun set at night he said, No! This is not my Lord.

Indeed, Allah is Ever-Living and never dies.

Indeed, Allah is Eternal and never disappears.

Indeed, Allah is the Most Powerful and nothing overpowers Him.

The star is weak; it is overpowered by the morning.

.And the moon is weak; it is overpowered by the sun

And the sun is weak; it is overpowered by the night and by the clouds.

The star cannot help me because it is weak.

And the moon cannot help me because it is weak.

And the sun cannot help me because it is weak.

But Allah helps me.

Because Allah is Ever-Living and never dies.

And Eternal and never disappears.

And the Most Powerful and nothing overpowers Him.

My Lord Is Allah

Ibrh m recognised that Allah is his Lord.

Because Allah is Ever-Living and never dies.

And Allah is Eternal and never disappears.

And Allah is the Most Powerful and nothing overpowers Him.

Ibrh m recognised that Allah is the Lord of the star!

And that Allah is the Lord of the moon!

And that Allah is the Lord of the sun!

And that Allah is the Lord of the entire universe!

Allah guided Ibr h m and made him a Prophet and took him as a friend.

And Allah commanded Ibr h m to invite his people towards Allah and to forbid themfrom worshiping idols.

Ibr h ms Invitation

Ibrh m invited his people towards Allah and forbade them from worshiping idols.

: Ibrh m said to his people, What are you worshiping?

They replied, We are worshiping idols. (26: 71)

: Ibrh m asked, Can they hear you if you call on them? (26: 72)

Can they benefit you or cause any harm? (26: 73)

They replied, No, but we found our forefathers doing this. (26: 74)

: Ibrh m said, So I will not worship these idols.

Rather, I am an enemy to these idols.

.I worship the Lord of the entire universe.

The One who created me and who guides me. (26: 78)

The One who feeds me and gives me to drink. (26: 79)

And when I become sick, then He cures me. (26: 80)

The One who will cause me to die and then bring me back to life. (26: 81)

Indeed, the idols cannot create and cannot guide.

And indeed, they cannot feed anyone and cannot give him to drink.

And if anyone becomes sick then they cannot cure him.

And indeed, they cannot cause anyone to die and cannot bring him back to life.

In Front Of The King

In the city, there was a very powerful king who was totally unjust.

People used to prostrate to the king.

. The king heard that Ibr h m prostrates to Allah and does not prostrate to anyone else.

So he became angry and called for Ibr h m.

Ibrh m came and he never used to fear anyone, except Allah.

: The king asked, Who is your Lord, Oh Ibr h m?

: Ibrh m replied, My Lord is Allah!

:

The king asked, Who is Allah, Oh Ibr h m?

: Ibrh m replied, The One who gives life and causes death. (2: 258)

: The king said, I give life and cause death. (2: 258)

The king called a man and killed him.

And he called another man and left him alive.

: And he said, I give life and cause death; I killed a man and left a man alive.

The king was very stupid, and so were all the polytheists.

And Ibr h m wanted the king and his people to understand.

: So he said to the king, Indeed, Allah brings the sun from the East, so you bring it

from the West. (2: 258)

So the king was bewildered and silenced.

. And he became embarrassed and could not find a response.

The Invitation To The Father

Ibrh m also wanted to invite his father towards Allah, so he said to him,

Oh my Father, why do you worship that which cannot hear and cannot see?

(19: 42)

And why do you worship that which cannot benefit and cannot cause harm?

Oh my Father, don't worship Shayt n. (19: 44)

Oh my Father, worship al-Rah mn (the Most Merciful).

: Ibrh m's father became angry and said, I will hit you, so leave me alone and don't sayanything.

: Ibrh m was gentle and forbearing, so he said to his father, Peace be upon you. (19: 47)

And he said to him, I will go from here and supplicate to my Lord.

Ibrh m felt very sad and wanted to go to another place to worship his Lord and callpeople towards Allah.

To Makkah

Ibrh m's people became angry, the king became angry, and Ibr h m's father becameangry.

And Ibr h m wanted to travel to another land, to worship Allah there and call peopletowards Allah.

So Ibr h m migrated from his country and said goodbye to his father.

He headed towards Makkah, and with him was his wife H jar.

Makkah at that time did not have any plants or trees.

Nor did it have a well or a river.

And Makkah did not have any animals or people.

Ibrh m arrived at Makkah and stopped over there.

. And he left his wife H jar and his son Ism l.

When Ibr h m wanted to leave, his wife H jar asked him,

Where are you going, my master? Are you leaving me here?

Are you leaving me while there is no water here, nor any food?

Has Allah commanded you to do this?

: Ibrh m replied, Yes!

: H jar responded, Then He will not forsake us.

The Zamzam Well

After a while, Ism l became thirsty.

His mother wanted to give him water to drink; but where was the water?

In Makkah there was no well.

! And in Makkah there was no river!

H jar was searching for water.

And she ran from S af to Marwah and from Marwah to S af .

. Allah helped H jar and He helped Ism l, so He created water for them.

.

The water came forth from the earth and Ism l drank and H jar drank.

, And the water remained there; it became the Zamzam well.

Allah blessed the Zamzam water.

And this well is the same one from which people drink during the H ajj and from whichthey take Zamzam water back to their countries.

Have you drunk Zamzam water?

Ibr h m's Dream

Ibrh m returned to Makkah after a while.

. He met Ism l and H jar and he was happy to be with his son Ism l.

Ism l was a young boy; he ran and played and went out with his father.

And Ibr h m used to love Ism l a lot.

That night, Ibr h m saw in a dream that he was sacrificing Ism l.

Ibrh m was a true Prophet and his dreams were true dreams.

And Ibr h m was the friend of Allah, so he wanted to carry out what Allah had orderedhim to do in the dream.

: Ibrh m said, Indeed, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So look, whatdo you think? (37: 102)

He said, O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills,

one of the patient ones. (37: 102)

Ibrh m took Ism l with him and he also took a knife.

. And when Ibr h m reached Mina, he intended to sacrifice Ism l.

. And Ism l lied down on the ground.

. And Ibr h m intended to sacrifice him; he placed the knife on Ism l 's throat.

. But Allah loved to see whether His friend would do what He commanded him to do.

. And did he love Allah more, or his son.

And Ibr h m succeeded in the test.

So Allah sent Jibril with a ram from Paradise and said, Sacrifice this and do not sacrifice

Ism l.

And Allah loved Ibr h m 's deed, so He commanded the Muslims to sacrifice somethingon Id al-Adha.

May Allah's peace and blessings be upon Ibr h m, the friend.

And may Allah's peace and blessings upon his son Ism l.

The Ka'bah

Ibrh m went away, and then later returned.

He wanted to build a house for Allah as there were lots of houses.

But there wasnt a house for Allah in which He was worshiped.

And Ism l wanted to build a house for Allah with his father.

So Ibr h m and Ism l carried stones from the mountains.

And Ibr h m built the Kabah by hand, and Ism l built the Kabah by hand.

And Ibr h m used to remember Allah and supplicate to Him.

And Ism l used to remember Allah and supplicate to Him.

Our Lord! Accept from us (our deeds). Indeed, You are the All-Hearing, the

All-Knowing . (2: 127)

And Allah accepted from Ibr h m and Ism l and blessed the Kabah.

We face the Kabah in every S alh.

And Muslims travel to the Kabah during the days of H ajj.

And they make T awf around the Kabah and perform S alh near it.

Allah blessed the Kabah and accepted from Ibr h m and Ism l.

May Allah's peace and blessings be upon Ibr h m.

May Allah's peace and blessings be upon Ism l.

And may Allah's peace and blessings be upon Muh ammad.

Bayt al-Maqdis

.

Ibrh m had another wife. Her name was S rah.

. And he had another son from her whose name was Is-h q.

. Ibrh m and Is-h q lived in al-Sh m.

And Is-h q built a house for Allah in al-Sh m just as his father and brother had built ahouse in Makkah.

This Masjid which Is-h q built in al-Sh m is Bayt al-Maqdis.

It is Masjid al-Aqs , whose surroundings Allah has blessed.

Allah blessed the children of Is-h q just as He blessed the children of Ism l.

From them, there were Prophets and kings.

Is-h q had a son whose name was Yaq b, and he was a Prophet.

,Yaq b had twelve sons, one of them being Y suf bin Yaq b.

Ysuf has an amazing story in the Qur n.

And this story is now presented to you!
