President's DeskIt's hard to believe we are already heading into the Hol-iday Season. It's easy to feel like our holidays won't be the same this year, and in many ways that may be true. Some of us won't be able to travel, or see our families, or even enjoy dinners out with friends. What will be the same, is the reason for the season. Not just one holiday, but all the holidays of the season.
We celebrate with friends and family, share gifts, food and cheer, but for some of us something may still be missing. Do you know the reason we acknowledge each of the holidays? Maybe this is the year to reflect back on the reason for each holiday marked to honor someone or something, of great value. There is fascina-tion in each story told. There is history to pass down.
This could be an opportunity for us to write a journal reflecting on past holidays, traditions and celebrations, while noting the things you want your family to con-tinue.
We don't need to worry about not being able to go out shopping in crowded stores. Many of us have some specific things we want our grandchildren, or someone special, to have. Box them and write a note as to why that item is important to you and why you want that particular person to have it. I guarantee that will mean much more than anything you can buy in a store.
Most of the time we have more control of our destiny than we realize. Choose to be happy, choose to be an inspiration to those around you. Despite all that's going on around us, find a positive thing to reflect on. This year could be the best Holiday Season we've had in a long time.
Karen Sheahan, President
****ATTENTION****
I want all of our members to be aware of why we are holding off on our Election process. Please understand, the State of NJ does not consider our village elections political. Without a long explanation, just know We are private. Therefore, in order to meet the guidelines set forth...no matter the capacity of our room, we cannot gather with more than 25 people...total. Not 25% (which is still a small amount). The numbers of COVID-19 cases has risen in the past two weeks and we will not roll the dice at the risk of the Village. Below is a small section of the executive order. I sincerely hope our residents are supportive of the delay. Again, please note our elections are NOT a political event.
Karen Sheahan
State of New Jersey Governor Murphy's Executive order 173 (refer to page 6 paragraph 1, center page) 1. Paragraph 1 of Executive Order No. 156 (2020) is hereby rescinded and the number of individuals at indoor gatherings that are not religious services or celebrations, political activities, wedding ceremonies, funerals or memorial services shall be limited to 25% of the capacity of the room in which it takes place, but regardless of the capacity of the room, such limit shall never be larger than 25 persons or smaller than 10 persons. The number of individuals at indoor gatherings that are religious services or celebrations, political activities, wedding ceremonies, funerals, or memorial services shall be limited to 25% of the capacity of the room in which it takes place, but regardless of the capacity of the room, such limit shall never be larger than 100 persons or smaller than 10 persons. For purposes of this Paragraph, any private residence or residential unit shall be treated as a single "room".

Hello everyone. We hope you are all doing okay. If there is anything the board or I can do for you, please let me know.
At our last two meetings in January and February, I spoke about a project for this fall. We were going to have a collection of Undergarments that would be donated to Your Grandmothers Cupboard. It would consist of new packages of tee shirts, under-wear, bras, socks, and slipper socks for men, women, boys and girls. I know I had already started to shop before we closed down and have a bunch of things in my home. I also heard from another member who has some things ready. If any of you have purchased items to donate, you can either drop them off at my house at 14 Augusta Rd or call me to make arrange-ments to pick them up. Even though we are stuck home, I don't think the need for these things has de-creased. In fact, there may be more people in need. I would need the items by November 15th and will donate them right after that.
I wish you all a safe, healthy and Happy Thanksgiv-ing. Please remember your neighbors who may be all by themselves.
We are looking forward to seeing you as soon as pos-sible. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Hello everyone! It was great seeing many of you that came to enjoy the music on October 11th, and for many of us, we also got some exercise by doing some dancing. It was a good turnout with about 75 people, many were from the other villages. To all who came, thank you and hope you had a great time. The Christmas Tree Lighting will be Friday, Novem-ber 27th at 6:30pm, come at 6:00pm for some Carol-ing. and there will be hot chocolate afterwards in the Clubhouse if it’s open or outside.Last month I had asked for volunteers to do some vil-lage Christmas caroling, so far I only received 2 calls. I will let you know next month if we can do it. Call me if you’re interested at 732-350-0821.Be well and stay safe and to all Happy Thanksgiving. Sincerely,Sara Ritterbusch, President
