Held annually for over a century – apart from a few bad weather years – the Avebury & District Ploughing Match has become a fi rm favourite in the local agricultural calendar and entries are now invited for the 2017 event. Scheduled to take place this year on 23 September at Galteemore Farm (N Hues & Sons), Beckhampton SN8 1QJ, the match will have classes to test various skills using di� erent makes and models of tractors and ploughs.

The latest addition to the Logic range of topping mowers is the Electric start TRM150 rotary mower.  This is an impressive, tough machine for cutting unruly paddock grass at up to 10kph, depending on growth, cutting quickly and e� ciently. It features a wide 1.5m cutting deck with three belt driven blades and powered by a reliable twin cylinder Briggs and Stratton 16hp engine with turn key electric starting. The Logic TRX150 can be towed behind any vehicle, compact tractor, UTV or ATV and is height

adjustable with a four-position drawbar o� set. There is an emergency safety cut-out lanyard and a remote throttle to put you in complete control. The blades are stationary at tickover, meaning you can

travel from A to B with the engine still running. Flotation tyres and

sealed ball bearings keep the whole thing running quietly and smoothly.

IMPROVE YOUR SOLAR GENERATING YIELD WITH PV PANEL CLEANING

Since T H WHITE Projects moved across from William Road to the new purpose-built 1250m2 factory and o� ces within the main T H WHITE Group complex in October last year the division has seen a signifi cant increase in the amount of fabricated steelwork, components and products being produced in our new Nursteed Road manufacturing facility.  Recent investment in machine tool technology has resulted in the installation of a new plasma cutter to assist the team in faster production of precision cut and profi led steel plate components for use on the numerous fabricated steel projects going through the production area.  T H WHITE Projects benefi ts from highly skilled in-house fabricator-welders whose capabilities enable the team to adapt and accurately manufacture a variety of bespoke

As the years go by solar panels will continue to generate and like every piece of infrastructure there are times when they need a check up and a clean to keep them functioning at their highest potential. T H WHITE Energy specialists have been involved in thousands of solar projects and after seeing an increase in demand from customers for maintenance services we have now expanded our activities to include solar panel cleaning. Our trained sta� use specialist cleaning equipment which we have taken time to test and review to ensure it complies with solar panel manufacturers’ warranty requirements. Solar panels come with a 25 year performance guarantee, provided they are operated and used in the correct approved way.Why clean solar panels?As part of our annual inspection we undertake a visual inspection of systems and in the fi rst year we recommend checking quarterly to ensure that dust and dirt build up is monitored. Some businesses have very high levels of dust which may mean cleaning the panels more than once a year. Similarly, where panels are installed in a wooded area there may be leaf debris build-up which can also have a negative e� ect on solar PV performance. Clients who have had arrays cleaned within the last year have experienced yield increases of more than 10 per cent following the process. We are able to clean all sizes of roof-mounted solar systems except for those on extreme high-rise buildings. We can also clean small to medium ground-mounted systems. Depending on the size of building we can either carry out the work from ground-level, or attached to ‘mansafes’ and harnesses, or via other mechanical access equipment. If you have a solar PV installation which could benefi t from cleaning, all we need to know is the system size and approximate size of the building in order to provide you with a quote. If there are any factors a� ecting access requiring special equipment we may choose to visit the site in order to give an accurate quote. steelwork for numerous applications, which can be confi dently addressed and produced within strict tolerances and specifi cations.        The new plasma cutter augments the capabilities of the shearing, pressing, folding and cutting equipment, further improving the operational e� ciency on the shop fl oor. The plasma cutter can cut both mild steel and stainless steel up to 20mm thick, achieving a high degree of accuracy and fi nish.  The Nursteed Road manufacturing facility is set up for production of bespoke steelwork comprising plate and member sections varying in size, profi le and weight. Two fi ve-tonne rated overhead cranes running above the individual fabrication bays enable component parts to be brought in safely, as well as taking out completed items prior to being sent for painting or hot-dip galvanising.

  Each of the fabrication bays is equipped with welding equipment and tools to undertake a variety of tasks, and is segregated by screens as well as having individual fume extraction so that clean air is maintained in the working area during the welding process.       The new factory has the benefi t of a large vehicle yard at the front of the building which ensures the safe unloading and eventual loading of the completed steelwork ready for despatch to customers. Site assembly and erection is on many occasions undertaken by the T H WHITE Projects personnel.  The Projects division produces a wide range of bespoke steelwork, ranging from ladders, stairways, platforms, supporting structures, ductwork and valves, to more complex grain doors, hoppers, bins, mezzanine fl oors and

overhead gantries and bridge structures.
