Tri-Valley TrailPhase II (Future)
A few facts about Nature Preserves and Current Reforestation
• The purpose of a Nature Preserve is to protect significant features of the natural heritage of Delaware and guarantee their existence for future generations.
• The articles of dedication for these Nature Preserves generally prohibit: buildings, facilities, billboards/advertising, roads/parking/trails (except in approved trail plan), utilities/public works (except in existing right of ways), regrading/excavation, removal or destruction of plants or animals (except for managing natural communities), or other uses that adversely affect plants/animals/habitat.
• 764 acres in Nature Preserves, about 22% of the Park
• Over 20 acres reforested
• The White Clay Creek is the only designated Wild and Scenic River in Delaware
