Waimata School “Whāia te iti kahurangi…To be the best that I can be” April 6th, 2016
2016 Board of Trustee Elections Next term will see our school go through tri-annual School Board of Trustees Elections. Our school will need to elect 4-5 parent representatives for a 3 year term as Board members.
The Board of Trustees role within the school is that of ‘Governance’, essentially this is the overseeing of the policies and procedures framework by which the school is run and also the strategic direction that the school is headed in.
If this interests you please feel free to come and discuss this with the Principal or with present and/or past Board members. Even better come along to our next Board meeting on Thursday 14th April to see for yourself how this all functions.

Winter Sports Notices Prior to the end of this Term students that wish to play Netball & Soccer will be bringing home permission forms. Please endeavour to get these back as soon as possible to ensure that we can accommodate everyone that wishes to play and register teams prior to the holidays. As in the past Y1-4 soccer will again be held after school on Tuesdays (subject to confirmation) at Waihi Beach School. Year 5 & 6 soccer will again be held at the College fields on Friday evenings. Netball have made some changes to the structure of various age groups but will still take place on Saturday mornings at the Waihi Netball Courts (times to be confirmed).
We hope to once again have as much participation as possible! Good luck and have fun to all those competing in sports next Term!

Right: Our keen cricketer’s making the most of the warm Autumn sunshine while it lasts! Currently Mr Phillips holds the high score for our purposely mowed ‘Waimata Oval’ 🏆
