A 2 years Social Science - World History & US History
B 4 years English
C 3 years Math - Alg 1, Geometry, Alg 2 (4 yrs. rec.)
D 2 years Lab Science - Bio & Chem/Physics (3 yrs. rec.)
E 2 years Language other than English- same language (3 yrs. rec.)
F 1 year Visual and Performing Art
G 1 year College Preparatory Elective
Students must take the SAT or ACT for UC and CSU admissions. (The Essay/Writing portion is also required for the UC schools)
UC schools only allow courses to be repeated ONCE to make up a D or F
Minimum GPA to apply to UC schools is 3.0
Minimum GPA to apply to Cal State is 2.0
Minimum GPA for NCAA eligibility is 2.3
C grades cannot be made-up/repeated
Repeated courses do not earn duplicate credits (GPA is impacted but original grade still posted and must be reported)

Senior Year is Important
• Maintain good grades and rigor in your courses
• Colleges may rescind an offer if your grades decline in spring semester
• Earning a D in your senior year may jeopardize college acceptance, even if the class is above and beyond the a-g requirements
• Earning an F may jeopardize your graduation and the grade can not be removed from your transcript

Community College Guidelines for Registration
STUDENTS MUST APPLY EARLY to receive priority registration even if you are not sure of which college or university you’ll attend.
To receive priority registration students must complete all steps prior to registration :
1. Submit online application for admission
2. Complete Assessments
3. Orientation
4. Meet with a counselor to develop Student Education Plan (SEP)
5. Register for Classes

Letter of Recommendation Packets & Secondary School Reports
• Request Packet – Available now in Counseling Office or on the CVHS website
• Counselors will not upload transcripts or letters until ALL documentation is received from the student
• 3 weeks notice REQUIRED (not including vacations)
• ALL counselor requests DUE Nov 17st, 2016 or earlier for Early Decision and Early Action applications
• Submit COMPLETED request packets to counselor at the time the request is made.
• Follow ALL directions and be thorough!

your application.
