Where can one find the History of the Nation of Islam?

Certainly not in a book.

From C. Eric Lincoln to Manning Marable, their focus was generally on one

person - Malcolm X. An e!en when someone oes a ubious work like "arl

E!an##, their focus is ne!er on $%E &E'&LE.

'f course, a lot of that has been rectifie recently with (akeel Allah)s books *+n

the ame of Allah !ol. / %istory of the F'+ !ol. 0, but a !oi still e1ists.

2o where then oes one fin this history3 +n many of the builings poste below.

Mas4i (ali Muhamma, Mas4i Muhamma, Mas4i ul-%a55, Mas4i $a5wa,

an many others all o!er the 62 are teeming with former followers of the ation

of +slam. An, prior to popular belief, many no longer hol their time uner the

%onorable Eli4ah Muhamma in contempt7 many recogni#e the wisom, the

!alue, the founation that was forme in those pi!otal years of their

e!elopment.

+nshAllah, we are able to capture this rich history in the near future. 8ut in the

meantime, ne1t time you cross paths with a 8lack man rocking a bear, or a 8lack

woman onning a ni5ab, an they)re o!er 9: - recogni#e that you are looking at

history - an not 4ust any history, ation of +slam history.

Where 4 out of the 10 original Temples are still standing and

are Masjids led by the Black man and woman from the wilderness of

North merica! the ne"t #0 didn$t fare so well%

&ocated in cities hit hard by the scourge of 'lobali(ation )'ary!

*ndiana+ ,ayton! -hio+ .artford! /onn%+ etc! many of the formerneighborhoods that housed these Temples or Mosues are nothing

more than boarded up buildings or empty lots! lea2ing nothing in

place but far gone memories%

-f course! we are only going by 'oogle Maps! but it$s safe to

say that most former Black neighborhoods 2anished as

)disintegration took hold% The si" below Masjids! while *$m not

aware of the neighborhoods or the conditions of the cities they$re in!

it$s e2ident! some 3 years later! they are hold outs and as

mentioned before! a reser2oir of history%

We were able to sit among many of the pioneers of Temple No%

#5 )many of the members can still be found in this same building!

now Masjid li Muslim% The stories are fascinating and certainly

beyond anything you$ll 6nd in any book that claims to present the

history of the Nation of *slam% *nsh$llah! in the following years! we$ll

be able to unearth the untold tales of other cities%
