When you open the box, the first thing you should do is ensure
you have received everything. You should have received: One Laptop, an AC Adaptor Power Brick, a Power Cord, a Mouse,
a Wireless Slide in Card (wireless card may be internal), and CDs or DVD.
The first thing you need to do is store the CDs or DVD in a safe place, where they will not be lost or forgotten. Do Not Put
the CDs or DVD into the Laptop, They Are Already Loaded on the Laptop. The only time you need these CDs or DVD will
be if one of our Highly Qualified Laptop Technicians instructs you to use them. Our Techs can be reached at: 952 882 8500,
extension 2, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm Central Standard Time.

Now we need to assemble the AC Adaptor. Grab the AC Adaptor Power Brick and the Power Cord.
On the brick, you will see a 3-prong hole.
And on the Power Cord you will see a 3-prong end.
Now plug the 3-prong end of the Power Cord firmly and all
the way into the 3-prong hole on the AC Adaptor.
Plug the other end of the Power Cord into the wall.
Now, identify the Power Port on the back of the Laptop.
Finally, plug the other end of the AC Adaptor into the Power
Port on the back of the Laptop.
Now that we have power, it is time to hook up the Mouse! First, identify the Mouse.
Next, identify the Mouse Port on the back of the Laptop.
Now, simply plug the Mouse cord into the Mouse Port.
Now you are ready to start using the Laptop, and it should look like this:
First, find the Power Button, located above the F5 and F6 keys
at the top of the keyboard.
Now, go ahead and push the Power Button. As the Laptop
starts booting up, you will first see the Compaq/HP logo on the screen.
Once the Laptop finishes booting up, you will find yourself at the Windows Opening Start Up Page. (This page will vary
according to model).
At this point you will probably want to check out the User’s Manual to get familiar with using the Laptop. Locate the File
on the Desktop, (Current Screen), labeled User’s Guide.
Now move the Mouse Pointer so it is hovering above the
User’s Guide File.
Now, double-click the User’s Guide File and the User’s Guide
will open up.
Please note the Table of Contents on the left panel of the screen.
If you click on Contents, it will open a Table of Contents on
the right panel of the screen. All you have to do is click on any subject you want to read about, and it will bring up the page.

Congratulations!!! You have wireless internet!
Valued Customer,
With your recent computer purchase, you are now capable of connecting your computer to
an existing wireless network. We have taken the time to make sure the software and drivers have
already been installed for you to make the setup process easier.
Setting up your wireless internet:
• The first thing you need to do in order to setup a wireless network is to call your local
Internet Service Provider (ISP) and sign up for high speed internet.
You can NOT setup a wireless network with dial-up internet.
• So I have High Speed Internet, now what? To setup a wireless network, you need a
‘Wireless Router’. If your ISP does not provide this for you, you can pick one up at your
local computer store. There will be some configuration of the wireless router and your
ISP or the manufacturer of the router will be able to help you set it up.
• Connecting to your wireless network: To connect to your wireless internet, insert your
wireless card into your laptop and use the wireless configuration utility to set up the
connection. The utility can be found in the Start Menu. If you need assistance when
connecting to your wireless network, the manufacturer of your wireless router or your ISP
can help.
• At a Restaurant or Café or any other ‘Public Access’ or ‘Hotspot’. For information on
how to connect to any public hotspot please see staff or customer service at the location.
**NOTE: GCM, Inc. DOES NOT support the many different brands of routers and access points there are on
the market and therefore will not be able to configure or troubleshoot your wireless network. The only piece of
hardware or software we can support is anything dealing with the wireless card itself. If you need help to
reinstall your wireless adaptor, or if you think it is not functioning properly, please call 952 882 8500 for
assistance.***
Please Open, Inspect, and Set Up your Computer Immediately.
