DESCRIPTION The Model 8-0813 light Panel Accessory is designed to fit all Wheel Horse tractors starting with 1968 models that were no t so equipped a t th e factory. The instructions are in tw o sections - on e for Lawn Rangers a n d on e fo r all other models. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS All except Lawn Ranger 1. IMPORTANT: Disconnect battery ground cable from the battery. This will avoid ho t sparks a n d short circuits. 2. Loosen Fuel Tank a n d move it ahead to provide working space on th e forward side of the dash 3. Remove th e plastic plug button in th e switch hole. 4. Using th e proper switch that adapts to th e instru ment panel, connect th e re d a n d yellow harness wires to the center switch terminal. Connect th e fused orange wire to th e switch side terminal. 5. Install th e switch in th e dash panel a n d feed the wires down through the rubber grommet in th e fuel tank support leaving the fuse wire loose enough that the fuse is accessible from th e top. Figure 1 ASSEMBLY LIGHT PANEL ACCESSORY MODEL 8-0813 6. Connect th e orange fuse wire to th e battery posi tive terminal. NOTE: On 1971 a n d later models th e wire may be connected to the A terminal of th e ignition switch by cutting off th e large eye terminal a n d installing th e push-on terminal No. 102651 in its place. 7. The hood escutcheon plate can be removed by breaking of f th e stems with a screwdriver tip. Install the tw o Ya rivets through the hood a n d reflector housing. The rivets a re held in place with th e push-on nuts, the slotted en d of h e nu t goes on th e rivet first, se e Fig. 1 a n d th e Exploded View Drawing. 8. Insert th e socket wires, springs, a n d bulbs a s shown in Fig. 1. Figure 2 9. Mount the lens to th e opening a n d fasten with th e four machine screws a s shown in Fig. 2. 10. String the red wire of th e harness forward under th e left side of th e engine a n d along th e left side of the hood. Connect the wire leads to th e connector a s shown in Fig. 3. Fasten th e wire to the hood with the clips provided. Any excess wire ca n be looped a n d taped to the inside of th e hood. 11 . Mount tail light base to th e rear of the fender a s shown in Fig. 4.
