What’s the Word?Vigil for Education and Peace at the Peace Pole Mon., April 15th 5 - 6pm - Brackenridge Villa
Prayerfully circle the Peace Pole remembering the people of all the countries in the world. Stand together seeking resources for education, health care, jobs, homes, and food. Join with millions of others in 43 countries who are observing the Global Day of Action on Military Spending http://demilitarize.org/. In the US 46.2 million or 1 out of 7 people live in poverty. Today Pentagon spending accounts for more than 50% of Federal budget discretionary expenditures. Now is the time to “beat swords into plowshares and spears into pruning hooks” as the prophet Isaiah wrote. The UIW Peace Pole is one of over 10,000 in 180 countries http://www.peacepoleproject.org/ Every Peace Pole proclaims the simple prayer May Peace Prevail on Earth. To All UIW Students,
PLEASE VOTE by FRIDAY, APRIL 19th. The QEP (Quality Enhancement Plan) Topic Selection Committee is now screening the 150 topic ideas that you helped turn in. Even though our committee includes two sharp student reps, everyone’s insights are crucial at this step in our process. Please take just five minutes to answer the three questions on this brief survey, and add your comments about which topics seem like the best QEP prospects. Learn more about the QEP at www.uiw.edu/qep and you can vote directly at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/UIW_QEP_Topic_Theme_Survey On behalf of the entire topic selection committee,THANK YOU! Dr. James, QEP team
