We are very excited for all that 2020 holds!

Our aim is to offer a vibrant programme of arts and entertainment for everyone and we have some of thebest in Live Music, Comedy, Cinema, Family Events, Classical Music, Art Workshops, Theatre and communityprojects for you to enjoy this season.

We look forward to welcoming Steve Knightley (of Show of Hands fame), as well as popular touring duoWilson & Wakeman. One of the country’s best loved comics, Jo Brand, joins us in February to try out herlatest material, and in March our literary festival returns to inspire readers, writers and literature lovers ofall ages. We will be screening several Oscar contending films, launching a new Friday morning potteryclass, and displaying some amazing artwork in our gallery!

We want our venue and arts programme to be as accessible as possible so, for those lucky enough to beunder 25, we offer reduced price tickets for cinema, live streaming and our classical programme. We arehosting a relaxed screening of ‘The Lion King’ which is designed to be welcoming and accessible toneurodiverse visitors, including those with Autism or Dementia. Our lunchtime classical series gives visitorsthe chance to enjoy live performances during daylight hours on a pay-what-you-can basis, and ourCommunity Drum Circle (only £5!) presents a fantastic opportunity to come together, have fun and makemusic! If you have any questions or suggestions regarding your visit, simply give us a call.

Colin Butcher: Molly the Pet Detective Dog Friday 6 March, 7.30pm£10 A former Detective Inspector with Surrey Police turned petdetective, Colin has reunited hundreds of owners withtheir dogs, but cats were always more elusive. Itaims to motivate, inspire and help women to develop theskills needed to lead a positive life.

Every year the Women’s Support Centre hosts an ArtAwards for women to submit artwork from in prison orthrough visiting the Centre. The theme of this year’sexhibition and Awards is ‘Journey Within’.

Nelson Mandela Art ExhibitionTuesday 3 – Saturday 14 MarchFree EntryThis exhibition, presented by Belgravia Gallery, will displaythe collection of signed artwork produced by NelsonMandela in the early 2000s after his release from prisonand time as President of South Africa. The images aremostly based on places he remembered on Robben Islandsuch as The Lighthouse and The Church, and also includedwill be the iconic Hand of Africa. Mr Mandela said ofbecoming an artist that he’d ‘like to become a full-timeartist when allowed to retire’.

Portraits by Maureen Domoney,Artist in Residence at HurtwoodHouse School 2019 Tuesday 17 – Saturday 28 March Free EntryDuring her year’s residency Domoney has focused onpainting the staff and students that make up the diversecommunity found at the renowned school. Thesetraditionally rendered oil paintings explore her fascinationwith the rendering of light and shade in the manner ofthe Old Masters. There is a particular affinity shown withDutch portraiture. The work on show is unified by theartist’s deft use of chiaroscuro and love of painterlyapplication. The paintings in the exhibit clearly conversewith each other, yet manage to retain the individuality ofeach sitter.
