Small Parcel Shipping (SPS)
Feature name: Small parcel shipping
• When this feature is enabled, it allows D365 SCM TMS to integrate with shipping carriers and send details about a packed container and receive a rate, tracking number and shipping label in return.
• CAVEAT: Integration to each shipping carrier’s API must be developed independently or acquired from an ISV. Microsoft does provide a demo rating engine for use, which is available for download on GitHub.
• This feature will be covered further in a separate TechTalk.
Material Handling Equipment Interface (MHAX)
Feature name: Material handling equipment interface
• When this feature is enabled, it allows D365 SCM WMS to integrate with automated warehouse systems to process work generated by the Warehouse Management module.
• NOTE: The ‘Material handling equipment interface’ license must also be enabled to use this feature, which requires putting the environment into maintenance mode.
Landed Cost (Inbound Transportation Management)
Feature/Module name: Landed cost
• This module provides the ability to define shipments of
inbound orders and track goods in transit throughout
their journey. It also provides the power to calculate item
costs associated with procurement and transportation
based on a rich set of allocation rules.
• CAVEAT: If the organization is using or planning on using
the Transportation Management module in conjunction
with Landed Cost, please review the following Docs
article: Landed cost vs. Transportation management.
• This module is enabled through Feature Management
under the same feature name as the module.
• This module will be covered further in a separate TechTalk.
Parallel Wave Allocation
Feature name: Wave parallelization for Allocate Wave method
• Starting with version 10.0.17, this feature is made mandatory (turned on automatically). You won't be able to turn off the feature, but you can still manually revert the settings if you require the previous functionality.
• All warehouses will be configured with the allocateWave method set to run in parallel, and all waves will be set to process in batch.
• This feature is intended to enhance the performance of the wave process.
Schedule Warehouse Work Creation
Feature name: Schedule work creation
• When this feature is enabled and the new wave process
method is manually added to a wave template, it replaces
the standard createWork wave process method with the
new WHSScheduleWorkCreationWaveStepMethod, which
enables parallel processing of work creation.
• NOTE: This feature is dependent on the ‘Organization-
wide work blocking’ feature also being enabled.
Additionally, there is a ‘Organization-wide "Schedule work
creation" wave method’ feature which automates the
feature set-up across all legal entities.
• This feature is intended to enhance the performance of
the wave process.
Warehouse Execution on Cloud & Edge Scale Units
Add-in name: Cloud scale unit
• PREREQUISITE: Hub and scale unit have been deployed
with the warehouse management workload.
• The ‘Incremental enhancements for warehouse execution
capabilities with scale units’ feature further enhances the
capabilities of the WES workloads to better fulfill
organizations' growing requirements, including:• Outbound picking/loading for transfers
• Label printing, including wave labels
• Cluster picking
• Wave processing
• Work record updates
• The ‘Warehouse execution with edge scale units on your
custom hardware’ feature improves the resilience of your
warehouse processes using edge scale units running on
physical appliances located on your own warehouse floor.• Devices connected to the edge scale unit will have the same
capabilities as when working against a cloud scale unit.
Warehouse Management Mobile Application
Feature name: User settings, icons, and step titles for the new warehouse app
• This feature adds settings that apply to the new,
redesigned warehouse app. The new settings allow you to
view and set default app settings for each specific device
model and/or user. This feature also adds the back-end
changes needed to support icons for menus and actions,
and to add illustrations and helpful titles for each step in a
process.
• NOTE: This is a separate application which can run side-
by-side with the old application.
• This feature has been covered in a separate TechTalk,
which can be found here: Warehouse Management
mobile app in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain
Management | March 2, 2021 - Microsoft Dynamics Blog.
Inventory Performance & Archiving
Feature name: Inventory transactions archive
• With this feature, you can move your old inventory transactions to a separate archive, which helps improve system performance while preserving your ability to view the archived transactions.
• PREREQUISTE: Inventory transactions can be archived only during periods where the following conditions are met:• The ledger period must be closed.
• Inventory closing must be run on or after the to-
period date of the archive.
• The period must be at least one year before the
from-period date of the archive.
• There must not be any existing inventory
recalculations.
Rebate Management
Feature/Module name: Rebate management
• This module is an updated offering of the rebates and royalty processing feature for D365 SCM. Use it to create contracts, deals, or agreements between your company and your customers and vendors to facilitate the calculation of rebates, deductions, and royalties. Track and maintain rebates and deductions transactions in a central location, where all relevant users can create, review, and process them effectively.
• This module is enabled through Feature Management under the same feature name as the module.
Single-Click SO Confirmation
Feature name: Single click sales order confirmation
• This feature lets you confirm sales orders with a single click. It enhances the sales order list and details pages by adding a new menu item that lets you create a sales order confirmation directly, without requiring you to go to the sales order confirmation posting page.
• NOTE: The command creates the sales order confirmation using the order confirmation settings that you used most recently (not including batch processing).
