Gailen Vick has over 25 years of experience in engineering development and marketing of high technology products. His experience as a speaker at several trade conferences and his years of working arm and arm with many of today’s Executive Management has made Gailen a resource to those colleagues.Prior to founding Reverse Logistics Trends Gailen had served on the executive staff of several third party service providers. With a strong background in computer and telecommunications related technologies.He entered the Service Industry on January 1996 after the Disk Drive Industry became driven by the consumer market. The Service sector was just evolving into a formal industry at that time. His first position was as a sales director at Sequel (acquired by Solectron), and then he was recruited at PCS as their VP of Sales & Marketing. Later Gailen was recruited by Magnetic Data Technologies, LLC where he led the business development of all global customers as VP of Strategic Accounts. Most recently he was the focal point that worked jointly with UPS to supplement their repair services and was part of the management team that positioned MDT for sell to Solectron Global Services. While in the service industry he has secured contracts with Toshiba, Iomega, Sun Microsystems, Hitachi, Panasonic, Apple, Mitsubishi, Imation, Gateway, 3Com, Compal, UPS, Kinpo, Bizcom and many others.

Panelist: Returns Prevention at the Retail Level

Dale Rogers is the Foundation Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management and the Director of the Center for Logistics Management at the University of Nevada. He is also the chairman of the Reverse Logistics Executive Council (www.rlec.org), a professional organization devoted to the improvement of reverse logistics practices. He is the leader of the sustainable supply chain research project currently underway at the University of Nevada. (www.sustainable-supplychain.com) Dr. Rogers is the former cochairman of the RFID Users’ Group, an organization researching the utilization RFID technologies in the supply chain. In 2001, he was the Paper Foundation Visiting Eminent Scholar Chair of Logistics at the University of North Florida. Prior to entering academia, Dale worked as a Project Director and Director of Marketing for a logistics consulting and software company. He has also been employed in material management and manufacturing at the Harris Corporation, and as an instructor with the Oldsmobile Division of General Motors. In 1994 while working as a professor at the University of Nevada, Dr. Rogers was the Director of Customer Service for the Non-Carbonated Beverages Division of the Coca-Cola Company.His current research interests are focused on: reverse logistics and returns, supply chain technologies, e-business supply chain management, and supply chain management.Dale has published in several logistics journals and is a co-

Micky Long is a Research Director in the Strategic Service Management Practice at Aberdeen. He researches best practices and technologies across the service chain and has written about field service automation, optimization, parts planning and execution, service supply chain performance, business intelligence and analytics in service organizations, service revenue attainment, asset management and mobility. Micky’s background includes over twenty five years of strategic technology marketing and consulting experience in hardware, software, services and distribution with fast-paced start-up companies like Hayes and Conner Peripherals and leading established companies like IBM, Tech Data and Siemens. He has ten years enterprise software experience with firms like MAPICS, Navision Software, Best Software and Indus International.

Joseph Warren - VP and General Manager, Customer Support Operations, Canon USA, Inc.Speaker - Keynote Address - Centralization of Reverse Logistics Services

Joe has more than 40 years of combined experience in manufacturing, logistics, and customer service. For the past 18 years he has served in numerous roles for Canon USA. Joe is currently responsible for Canon’s nationwide customer service and support network as well as the reverse logistics system and recovery processes associated with Canon’s consumer product returns. In 2006, Canon’s products, service and support were designated as PC Magazine Readers Choice, giving Canon this honor 3 consecutive years. Canon has extensive experience in reverse logistics and Joe has contributed to the development of systems that allow Canon to reduce material consumption through increase use of recycle content. Joe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.

Consumer Products, LLC, announced in January 2006 the formation of a new company, Professional Service Solutions, LLC. After 25-plus years of progressive industry experience in the consumer electronics industry, serving in several key executive positions with three world-class consumer electronics entities, Fabian elected to take early retirement from his position at Toshiba in order to utilize his broad-based executive service experience to provide consulting services to the consumer electronics industry. Fabian is a highly experienced executive leader with strong negotiation, training and supervisory skills and a proven track record.

Pam Rapp - Strategy Manager, Walmart Stores, Inc.Panelist - Product Early Failure Detection & Recycling

Pam Rapp is a 11 year reverse logistics manager, with the last 6 years of that as

a Wal-Mart associate, located in Bentonville, Arkansas at the corporate office. Pam’s 11 years have been dedicated solely to the reverse logistics process. She started as a Quality Assurance Manager 1995 at the Indianapolis returns facility. Pam joined the Wal-Mart administration team in 2000 as merchandise manager supporting the stores, clubs, merchandising and supplier community. In 2001 she took on the Solutions team responsible for supporting Wal-Mart’s 6 hardlines return centers. In 2004, she was promoted to Distribution/Return Center Support Manager which includes responsibility for several areas such as: inventory flow, merchandising contact/training, product removals, and supplier education/relations all within the reverse logistics network.

After 20 years in the Medical Device Industry as a Manufacturing Manager,

and Marketing Manager, Jack made a radical move to Dell in 2000. He spent 4 years in World Wide Procurement (WWP) as a Global Supply Manager and Supply Chain Manager, 2 years as a Product Manager with the Global Technology Group, and a little over a year with the Americas Return and Remanufacturing Center as the Production Control/Strategic Planning Manager. With Dell moving deeper into the Retail space Jack has become one of the point people defining the Reverse Logistics for Retail.

Jeremy Murchland has over 10 years of mobile phone and retail management experience. He is the current Head of Customer Service for Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications (USA) Inc. and is responsible for all post sales support channels in North America including all repair operations, a reverse logistics/distribution hub, call center, and a field quality support team. Prior to this, Jeremy was the Director of Sales responsible for regional operators, distributors, and retailers in the United States. establish World Wide repair of X-box console from the ground up. Building a world class team he integrated systems, processes and partnerships with expert service partners.

Chuck Johnston — WAL-MART Stores, Inc. Chuck Johnston is General Manager at the Bentonville Return Center, WAL-MART Stores, Inc. Chuck has been

with Wal-Mart for the past 13 years and his responsibilities include Returns, Imports, Exports, Tires and Printing and Mailing Distribution.

Hartmut Liebel - President, Jabil Global Services Mr. Liebel joined Jabil as Executive Vice President in July 2002, responsible for Jabil’s Global Services division and

was named Chief Operating Officer in October 2003.

Prior to joining Jabil, he served as Director of Business Development at Artesyn Technologies, a leading supplier of power conversion products and communications subsystems. He has also held positions as Assistant Treasurer of W.R. Grace, and as Vice President-Capital Markets at Bank of America and Merrill Lynch.

responsible for credit issuance, engineering, remanufacturing, and all return related costs. His product responsibilities cover printing, digital imaging, supplies, scanners, and shared printing.

Howard Rosenberg — eBay, Inc. Howard has been with eBay for over 4 years and runs the Company’s Trading Platforms business serving companies

interested in maximizing their recovery rates on excess and refurbished inventory through the Reseller Marketplace or through their own, private-label auction marketplaces. He has 14 years of experience in various capacities, including operating, advising and investing in, companies in the consumer product, consumer services and business services sectors.

Dan Gilbert— Cisco Systems Dan Gilbert is Vice President of Worldwide Reverse Logistics at Cisco Systems, Inc. His charter when joining Cisco in 2005 was to define and create

a world-class reverse logistics organization. Dan’s global team is responsible for driving excellence in product recovery, receiving, inventory, and recycling operations, and for transforming returned product into value for Cisco shareholders.

Tony Sciarrotta — Philips Consumer Electronics Tony is Director of Returns Management at Philips Consumer Electronics North America. In this position,

Tony leads returns reduction and entitlement initiatives for mainstream consumer electronics, and is also currently concerned with further driving the implementation of electronic registration for Philips products at leading retailers. Working with Philips Sales, Service, Marketing, and the Philips Business Excellence Group, Tony is helping drive several teams to improve the consumer experience and subsequently reduce the high rates of products returned with no defect found.

Larry Maye — Palm Global Larry Maye is currently serving as the Sr. Director of Palm Global Reverse Logistics. In this capacity he is responsible for the global

repair and logistics for Palm to include repair operations, customer service fulfillment, vendor management, returns processing and global strategy.

Doug Schmitt - Vice President of Global Field Delivery, DELL Doug Schmitt serves as VP of Dell’s Global Field Delivery organization with international

responsibility for global break\fix field engineers, same day service delivery, spare parts depots, parts planning, service logistics, repair, reverse logistics and Dell’s global command centers. In addition to Doug’s role as VP Global Field Delivery he has responsibility for Americas Support Services. Previously, Doug held executive and senior management positions in service and finance at Dell, Inc.

Dale Rogers - Foundation Professor of Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Director of the Center for Logistics Management, University of Nevada.

He is also the chairman of the Reverse Logistics Executive Council (www.rlec.org), a professional organization devoted to the improvement of reverse logistics practices. He is the leader of the sustainable supply chain research project currently underway at the University of Nevada. (www.sustainable-supplychain.com) Dr. Rogers is the former cochairman of the RFID Users’ Group, an organization researching the utilization RFID technologies in the supply chain.
