2016 TGIF
Teen Leaders
The 2015/2016 edition of the TGIF program in Marion County was a great success. For years this program has attempted to reach out to the youth of our county, with the help of its Teen Leaders, in an effort to help them make better decisions regarding their futures and to be able to resist societal and peer pressures to become sexually active before marriage. As always, there were a large number of sophomore, junior, and senior students from each school ready to serve as Teen Leaders, mentors, and teachers to the 6th grade students who receive the TGIF curriculum. They all did an outstanding job presenting the material to each class and even more importantly, created relationships with their younger peers and set a great example for them to follow in the future. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to work with each of them and would like to say thank you to them all for their willingness to serve in this very important role. The future looks bright with people like these!
I would also like to say thank you to the 6th grade teachers, parents, and students who allowed us to present the program this year. I sincerely hope that it has made a positive impact on the lives of all those involved. Teachers and parents, thank you for your cooperation. Any success we may have starts with you and your willingness to support us in this outreach. 6th graders, thank you all for your attentiveness and participation this year. You made the program a lot of fun for myself and the Teen Leaders. You are what this program is all about, and I am very happy to see that you are all ready and willing to make smart decisions for your future when faced with difficult situations. Thank you again to everyone involved!
Sincerely, Josh Frazier – TGIF Agent Assistant, Marion/Fayette County
