FINES...

There was a proposal to fine our two new members. Lynne Lande asked the member-ship to vote on it and it was passed by unanimous consent of the membership with the exception of Mark Lavin.

Fred Sanchez proposed a fine on anyone that was not wearing Maize and Blue in sup-port of U of M’s Basketball team which was to play in the National Championship game later that evening. President William noted, at this point that he had predicted that the U of M would make it to the Final Four, a point that was not noted in last week’s News-letter. This motion was passed unanimously with the exception of one, lone, ‘no’ vote.

HAPPY DOLLARS...

Ken Hillenburg said he was happy to have gone to the Arthur Miller Theater to see the production of Angels In America. He praised this performance and recommend-ed it to the club membership.

Dick Smit had a happy dollar for the Men’s Clothing Department and he encouraged members to go out there to browse.

Eloise Lavin had a happy dollar for her husband Mark joining the club. She said that with his background in banking and software that he will have much to offer our club.

Charlie Phibbs had a happy dollar for the success of this year’s Michigan Men’s basketball team.

Emily Allshouse had a happy dollar for the musical producer of the live, Easter Sunday evening, performance of Jesus Christ Superstar which Emily thoroughly en-joyed. She hoped that she wasn’t stealing Larry Dittmar’s thunder as his son was in charge of the sound production for the show.

Bob Carr had a ‘Cautionary Dollar’. He advised, when on Staebler Road going right onto west-bound Jackson Road, to not only to watch for cars traveling west but also to watch for vehicles that had been traveling on east-bound Jackson Road making a U-turn to travel west. In other words, when waiting at Jackson Road to turn west, watch for a car facing north also waiting to turn west. Be sure that you don’t turn at the same time with the possibility of a collision.

Dan Dever asked Peter Schork to join him at the podium to open a wrapped present. Peter did so and the present was a tall, ceramic mug with an artistically added mustache that looked just like Peter’s mustache.

Larry Dittmar had a happy dollar for his and his wife’s 52nd wedding anniversary.

Fred Sanchez had a happy dollar in anticipa-tion of the Michigan Men’s basketball team’s victory in the National Championship that was to be played later that night. .

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES...

The Ypsilanti Kiwanis Club’s annual pancake breakfast will be held at the Ypsilanti Methodist Church on Saturday, April 14th from 7:30 am until 1:00 pm. $8 for adults and $4 for kids.

Fred Sanchez said it’s time to think spring and baseball. The annual Tiger trip is Saturday, August 11th against Minnesota. The cost is only $70 including, game, bus ride, lunch. Fred guarantees a Cracker Jack time.

Chelsea will be hosting a Super-interclub on Monday, April 16 at 6pm at the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital (see flyer on page 5).
