To SeekTHEME EXERCISE FOR OCTOBER

What Does It Mean To Be A People of Letting Go?Each month you are invited to participate in a theme exercise based on the theme of the month.Try it out; try it on for size and then use it to start a conversation on Sunday during Fellowship Hour or in some other part of your life. If you are interested and would like to share your experience on the last Sunday of the month during the service, please let Rev. Tracy know. Let go of any trepidation and give it a try!

One Space in Your LifeThe international bestseller, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, helps us see cleaning up clutter in a new light. It’s not about eliminating mess; it’s about letting in joy and creating space in which our spirits can breathe. The author’s challenge to all of us is this: “Anything that doesn’t “spark joy” is to be touched, thanked and ceremonially sent on its way!” This month take up the challenge: Read the article about her book (and maybe read the book as well!):http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2014/nov/27/toptipstojoyfullydeclutteryourhomefrommariekondo

Pick one “space” in your life and declutter it in the way she recommends. This space can be something as big as a living room or as small as a desk drawer or the back seat of your car. Take before and after pictures. Come to your group ready to share what it was like to thank and send the clutter on its way. Most importantly, come ready to show what it’s like to have one space full of the things that “spark joy” and prop you up.

Join FUSP Volunteers

at the

Fanwood Recycling Center

October 248:45 am-1:00 pm

This is a great opportunity for hands-on learning about recycling and environmental justice. The unique thing about the Fanwood Recycling Center is that it is a non-profit center run by volunteers and a few paid staff members. The center not only sells a higher percentage of the recyclable materials than most for-profit centers, it gives 100% of the profits back to the non-profit organizations that volunteer there. Every time FUSP volunteers work at the center, FUSP receives a $200 donation. Anyone 11 or older can volunteer. It is a great opportunity for students to fulfill service hour requirements. For more information or to sign-up to volunteer, contact Denise Soppas ([email protected]) or Elena Terry ( [email protected]).

Looking for People

Who Like to Smile, Listen, and Meet People.

“Greeters” The welcome we give others

and the way others receive it —is a key ingredient to growing our membership.

Outside Greeters are needed to invite people (friends, members and guests)into our sanctuary on Sunday mornings.

Inside Greeters make our visitors welcome after the service - introducing them to FUSP and our community.

If you would like to assist the membership committee by welcoming visitors, please contact Denise Soppas ([email protected])
