Education for Sustainability (EfS) is defined as a transformative learning process that equips

students, teachers, and school systems with the new knowledge and ways of thinking we need to

achieve economic prosperity and responsible citizenship while restoring the health of the living

systems upon which our lives depend.

Be the lead organization that transforms NJ schools, through leadership decisions and

actions, to become healthy learning environments that save resources and money.

NJSBA Sustainability Goal

• Providing training for the leadership of schools

• Supporting the Sustainable Jersey for Schools certification program

• Providing Dues and Fee based Sustainability Services in areas of policy, district goal setting, strategic planning and facility, operations and maintenance

Sustainability Services• NJSBA Sustainability Services are designed to align with the Sustainable Jersey for Schools actions that will lead towards certification

• As a dues based benefit to NJSBA members, school district personnel will have access to one full-day working session for a Sustainability Wellness Check

• Follow up consultation services with NJSBA staff and green industry experts and the Cloud Institute
