WHAT WENT WRONG?

But what happened? Why is it that every

corner of our daily world seems to be

tinted with sin and filled with sinfulness?

Sin is an “alien” who invaded our world!

WHAT IS SIN? I John 3:4

1 John 3:4 (NLT)

“Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law,

for all sin is contrary to the law of God.”

WHAT IS SIN? I John 3:4

1.1. Sin is a TRANSGRESSION of God’s law.

1.2. Sin is a DECLARATION of independence

from God.

WHERE DID SIN ORIGINATE?

Ezekiel 28:12-17 (NIV)

12 “Son of man, take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre and say to him: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “‘You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: carnelian, chrysolite and emerald, topaz, onyx and jasper, lapis lazuli, turquoise and beryl. Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared.

Satan Thrown Down to Earth

“7 Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels

the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient

serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the

deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to

the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.”

Lucifer is the ORIGINATOR of sin.

The sin of Lucifer was the desire to replace

God as God. This motivated his:

False ambition

Pride

Jealousy

These are Luciferous intents that he still uses today

to deceive, tempt, and accuse everyone.

HOW DID SIN ENTER INTO THE WORLD?

Genesis 3 (NIV)

3 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”

4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

HOW DID SIN ENTER INTO THE WORLD?

Romans 5:12 (NIV)

“Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death

came to all people, because all sinned—”

Sin entered the world when Adam & Eve were

DECEIVED by Lucifer.

HOW DID OUR PERSONAL SIN AFFECT OUR

RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD?

4.1. It makes us GUILTY. The sentenced of God for us is: judgment,

wrath, punishment, condemnation, damnation and death.

---I John 3:4; Ezekiel 18:4; Psalms 62:12; Romans 14:12; II Corinthians 5:10.

4.2. It makes us SICK. “Sin is not only what we do; It is what we are”.

----Matthew 7:17; 12:33-35; Jeremiah 17:9.

---Sickness that is serious enough to be called death. Eph. 2:1, 5; I Tim.

5:6; Jude 12.

WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF OUR

PERSONAL SINS?

5.1. Separation from GOD. Isaiah 59:2.

5.2. Death:

---Physical Death – Romans 5:12

---Spiritual Death --- Ephesians 2:1-5

---Eternal Death --- Revelation 21:8.

WHO ARE THE SINNERS?

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

WHO ARE THE SINNERS?

“All of us have become like one who is unclean,

and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;

we all shrivel up like a leaf,

and like the wind our sins sweep us away.”

IS THERE A SIN THAT CANNOT BE FORGIVEN?

“Come, let’s talk this over, says the Lord; no matter

how deep the stain of your sins, I can take it out and

make you as clean as freshly fallen snow. Even if you

are stained as red as crimson, I can make you white as wool!”
