Review from Mon. 3.19.12

• Parts of the Atom• Proton= +• Neutron = 0 charge• Electron = -• 1st Energy level can hold

2 electrons• Valence can hold 8

electrons.

Use the Periodic Table to determine the elements. Remember, that the numberof energy levels tells us the Period /Row and the number of Valence Electrons tells usThe Group/Column # (1,2,13,14,15,16,17,18)

Review Activities

Pure Substances and Mixtures Models

• Clear off your table top.• Lay out the sheets of paper. You

should have 3 elements, 2 compounds and 2 different types of mixtures.

• Follow the directions to build the models and place them on their correct sheet.

• Answer the questions on a separate sheet of paper. Don’t forget to put the title and your name.

• You have 15 min. to complete the task.

States of Matter/Phase Changes

• You’ll watch a Brain Pop clip and then complete the worksheet.

• Write your answers on a separate sheet of paper.

• If you finish early you’ll finish work from yesterday.
