Women EmpoweredWomen Empowered, a program of 1628, was founded inJanuary 2020 and is dedicated to being the area’s premierinclusive leadership initiative that empowers women-identifyingentrepreneurs and self-starters by creating a thrivingcommunity of mentorship, professional development, andsupport in a centralized physical and digital hub.
Through coworking, workshops, and networking, WomenEmpowered meets the needs of women-owned businesses bycreating opportunity, access, and ultimately reduces barriers toeducation and capital—growing Cincinnati’s businesscommunity through the power of working together.

Meet the Organizers
Colleen O'ConnorWE Program Manager
Tamara SchwartingFounder and Owner of 1628 Ltd.
Founder and CEO of 1628 Ltd, curated coworking. She is the visionary behind the Women Empoweredprogram, and a serial supporter of women-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, creatives and the culinaryarts. She is a strategic thinker, negotiator, and urbanist with a background in Pharmaceutical Science. Withover 20 years of experience, and as a Procter & Gamble alum and a current Kroger executive, her workgoes beyond operating a coworking facility. Tamara has expertise in supply chain management andstrategic procurement with core areas of focus in: supplier/client relationship management; sourcingstrategies; competitive bidding & negotiation and commercial agreements. A contributor to Forbes, shewrites on leadership, negotiation, professional practices, and issues in business.
With over 15 years experience working in curriculum and workforce development in the arts and withregional entrepreneurs, Colleen helped support creating the Women Empowered program from the groundup. Prior to joining 1628 Ltd. she led the Creative Enterprise and Talent Development programs atArtWorks, which included a 9-week incubator program, Co.Starters, which trained over 400 regionalcreative entrepreneurs and a 10-week accelerator program culminating in a shark-tank style pitch nightsponsored by U.S. Bank, Big Pitch. Through this work she has a deep-bench for industry specialists,training experts, and has a history of developing strategic partnerships and relationships that are symbiotic,innovative, and resource generating for the benefit of small businesses.

About The ProgramProgram PlanWE Connect's first cohort begins mid-June 2020 and will run until just beforethe end-of-the-year. The 6-monthprogram will contain 12 sessions, twiceper month: one curated workshop andone facilitated small group meeting usethe workshop as a launching point forconversation but also to discuss eachmember's thoughts, needs, or receivefeedback
Workshop TopicsWorkshops will cover a wide variety oftopics so that you may become more well-rounded and help your business grow.From marketing and finance tips to legaladvice, the curated content and curriculumwill offer plenty of resourceful subjects toaid you and your business. All workshopswill be facilitated by regional experts whoare leaders in their field.
Group Dynamics
Interested members will be assigned to groups based onsimilar personal and professional goals. This allows eachmember to relate and form more intimate relationshipsto further their business together.

ApplicationHow to ApplyThe WE connect application is available through our websiteand will be open until May 9th. The application process issimple, and will help us understand the most beneficial groupto place you as well as understanding your goals forcompleting the 6-month program. Applicants who areaccepted will be responsible for the $150 program fee toparticipate.
CommitmentMasterminds truly work when all of its members are dedicatedto showing up and participating. Your fellow group membersrely on you to support them and be an advocate in theirbusiness endeavors. Members are expected to show up for thetwice-a-month sessions with a total commitment to about 3-5hours per month.

How will the mastermind groups and workshops be
conducted?
Currently, we are planning for all workshops to be hostedvirtually through the end of 2021 via Zoom. Our smallmastermind groups have the option to meet over Zoom or toutilize 1628Ltd. which has ample room to offer socialdistancing

When Will participants be notified?
All applicants will be notified mid-May, 2021
Where do I park for 1628?
Street/metered parking, surface lots, and garages are allavailable within 1-2 blocks of our facility.
How much does it cost to join?
We charge $150 for applicants to join.
