The organization was proposed to and adopted by Mayor’s Youth Commission early in 2012. A goal was set of collecting $500.00 and donating 500 pieces of clothing to schools by the beginning of the school year in 2012. Members of MYC collected $718.91.

With the $718.91 collected, approximately 948 pieces of clothing were purchased. In addition, Redeemer Lutheran donated 345 items for a total of 1293 career and casual clothing items which were distributed to local schools in the fall of 2012. Since that time, an additional $1519.30.00 was donated by the Sioux City Police Officers’ Association, the Mayor and City Manager of Sioux City and individuals. This additional money was used to purchase socks, underwear, coats and casual and career clothing which were distributed to schools early in 2013. This amounts to a grand total of $2238.21 raised and 2650 pieces of clothing distributed to students in need in the Siouxland area.
