What is the Pacific Alliance?

The Pacific Alliance is a regional integration initiative whose member states are Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru. The Pacific Alliance was established by the Declaration of Lima signed in April 2011. For its establishment, two very important aspects are taken into account: • The economic integration of Latin America as a fundamental tool for promoting a regional presence in the international markets.
• The dynamism of the Asia-Pacific región.
PACIFICALLIANCE
1. To build, in a participatory and consensual manner, an area of deep economic integration and to move gradually toward the free circulation of goods, services, capital and persons.
2. To promote the larger growth, development and competitiveness of the Parties’ economies, aiming at achieving greater welfare, overcoming socio-economic inequality and achieving greater social inclusion of their inhabitants.
3. To become a platform for political articulation, and economic and trade integration, and project these strengths to the rest of the world, with a special emphasis on the Asia-Pacific region.

Cooperation as a tool for social and economic
development
Agreement for the establishment of the Pacific Partnership Cooperation Fund Ensures resources for cooperation projects designed to benefit from the integration.

Student Mobility Platform
100 scholarships per country: 75 scholarships for undergraduate and 25 for doctoral faculty and the academic mobility of teachers. Scholarships will be gradually awarded over several contests.

Bringing Mexico into MILA made it the largest stock market in Latin America in terms of capitalization and of the total number of businesses listed, which
went from 565 to 986, meaning a 43% growth.

The same can be seen in the days required to register a business, where economies of the Pacific Alliance have progressed significantly.
53 days in 2004 to only 12 days in 2016 .

reduced barriers to entry, simplifying the creation of a business.
