WHAT IS PHILIPPINE EAGLES FRATERNITY
In a nutshell, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, or the Philippine Eagles in brevity, is a national fraternal and socio-civic organization of professionals bonded under the common aspiration of emulating the natural characteristics of an eagle, in our case the Philippine Eagles, and practice the same in our daily lives so as to benefit the family, community and the country.
Started off by national socio civic leaders from the Lions, who thought of coming up with the first truly Philippine-born fraternity, the Philippine Eagles was founded in 1989 at Abeerden Court Hotel and U.P. Diliman campuses in Quezon City.
Since then, or for 36 years now, the Philippine Eagles grew by leaps and bounds. It counted among its prestigious members President Fidel V. Ramos, who issued a Special Proclamation, making every 2nd week of June of each year as the National Philippine Eagles Week nationwide; President Erap Estrada and Senators Allan Peter Cayetano, Lito M. Lapid, Ernesto Maceda, Juan Ponce Enrile, Jinggoy Estrada; several generals and ranking officers of both the military and police service; and leaders and captains of industries in the Philippines.
It is run nationwide by a National President, who is aided by a National Executive Vice President, a Secretary General and other appointive national officers. As a national fraternity, it is composed of several Eagle Regions where there are existing clubs and members, each headed by a regional governor. The Eagle Region is in turn composed by a highly autonomous but cohesive Eagle clubs headed by a Club President and elective set of officers.
Just like any other similar organizations, the objectives of the Philippine Eagles is to develop its members to become productive members of the society and help the local community through civic and philanthropic works, and finally help in the paramount aim of fostering sustainable nation-building for the future generations.
