Pyjamas are Good because they are personal

Pajamas come from the asian

word paijama, which translates

as leg garment. In the 18th and

19th centuries, Britain had a large

presence in Asia and the loose

clothing was introduced in Britain,

making them vastly popular.

They were around in Britain in the

17th century as lounging attire,

though went out of fashion until

they were reintroduced by British

colonials bringing them back from

Asia.

Surveys found that people, in

particular students, are far more

likely to spend the entire day in

their pyjamas if they dont have

anywhere to be. And that a lot of

people have been out of the house

in their pyjamas, be it just to the

shop or to college or university.

Pyjamas in Popular CultureQuestionnaire Results

Out of fifty women who received the questionnaire, 75% of them

answered that they wore pyjamas

Out of the fifty males who took part in the survey, only 10% admitted to

pyjamas being their preferred form

of sleepwear.

This product would be much

more successful if geared towards

women

As part of my pyjama related

research I decided to look at

how pyjamas feature in popular

culture. The most obvious result

is the childrens television show

Bananas in Pyjamas. Other results

that popped up were the 1950

Broadway show and later movie

The Pyjama Game, the recent

move The Boy in the Striped

Pajamas.
