What is a Spreadsheet?

• A grid of rows and columns containing data such as numbers, text and formulas.

What are Rows & Columns

• Row– Information organized

horizontally.

• Column– Information

arranged vertically.

Cells

• A cell is the box formed at the intersection of a row and a column, either in a table or a spreadsheet.

• A cell address is the column letter and row number for each cell.– Example: A1 or D10

What is a Formula?

• In Excel, the relationship between cells, such as adding or dividing the contents of cells in an arithmetic equation.

• For example, you can create a simple formula such as =A1+B1
