What is a Deacon? In short, deacons are those who help ensure that the execution of the ministry happens. In Acts chapter 6, verses 1 through 7 we see the first selection of deacons. The needs of the people were too large for the apostles to meet, so they selected well respected and gifted leaders to help ensure that the ministry needs were met. Because of the help of these deacons, the apostles were able to focus on spreading God’s message throughout the lands. At TWC, deacons play a vital role in making sure that the needs and the execution of ministry are met. Whatever role of service or what the need may be (collections, ushers, etc.), the deacons help to fill in the gaps around the ministry team with capable, respected leaders.

What is a Minister? As part of the Ministry Team, Ministers are charged with helping to support the day-to-day ministry and operations of the church, as well as provide spiritual support for the church family. Ministers lead and serve on teams as needed, but are not necessarily permanently assigned to one particular team. Some of the critical functions of the minister’s role are: serving/supporting the Dream Team, serving/supporting TWC Small Groups, Supporting the TWC church family through Pastoral Care, Weddings, Funerals, Baptisms, Baby Dedications as well as many other key areas of leadership and support.
