Complaint Description

Nicholas Gullickson (Sun, 27 Oct 2019 at 10:46 AM) South Snohomish County Fire Commissioner David Chan was witnessed yesterday campaigning in his official uniform supplied with taxpayer funds. The photographs I have attached clearly show him waving signs for himself and fellow Commissioner Jim Kenny. This will surely result in gross mistrust because it appears as if Commissioner Chan is using taxpayer funded money to campaign in his official capacity as an elected official. What impact does the alleged violation(s) have on the public? Creates a mistrust of elected officials due to campaigning in their official capacity as someone represented to public office. It is extremely misleading when an elected official is seen campaigning in their official uniform, in this case as elected fire commissioner.
