What If God Answers Wait?
Introduction to the Video:
There was a study done at Stanford University called The Marshmallow Test done in
1972.
Children age 4 yrs. old were asked to sit in a room with a big chewy, yummy, fluffy, soft
and irresistible marshmallow. They were instructed that if they would wait for the
psychologist to come back, she will give one more marshmallow if the child will not eat
the first marshmallow.
See how some of them reacted.

Result of the Study: Kids who did not eat the marshmallow and waited for the
psychologist to come back for the second marshmallow performed better in life. They
got better grades in elementary and got high scores in SAT (just like NCEE or NSAT in
the Phils.)
How many of us have experienced waiting. (You can sight example of situations where
a person has to wait, like doctors appointment, wait in line, etc.)
How many of us have experienced waiting for God to answer their prayers? Is there
anyone here who can say that ALL their prayers are answered by God.
When we pray, we know that God answers in three ways:
1. Yes
2. No
3. WAIT
Please remember that we are all experiencing that we are WAITING for God to
answer us. Sometimes, you may feel, alone or isolated. You feel that you are the only
one in that situation. But that is a lie. We are all in that situation.
Examples of People Who Waited on God:
1. Abraham and Sarah waited 25 years for their son Isaac. (Expound mo na lang)
2. Noah was given the instruction to build an ark that God will use to save his family
and he waited 120 years for this to happen. (Expound mo na lang)

3. Moses saw the Egyptians mistreat the Israelites 40 years when he killed the
Egyptian. He was 80 years old when God called him at the burning bush to save
his people. (Expound mo na lang)
4. David was maybe 17 years old when Prophet Samuel anointed him as King.
Only after13 years did he become king. (Expound mo na lang)
5. Joseph was 17 years old when he had a dream, but he was already 30 when he
became Pharaohs right hand man. (Expound mo na lang)
Test of Waiting:
When we are waiting for God to answer our prayers, we are tested in different areas of
our lives. Kamusta naman po ang ugali nating habang tayo ay naghihintay. Kamusta po
an gating:
1. Patience? Ps. 37:7
2. Obedience? Ps. 37:334
3. Hope? Ps. 33:20
4. Joy/Gladness? Ps33:21
5. Eagerness? Rom. 8:19
6. Singleminded?
7. Desiring Him Is. 26:89
-maybe God is asking us to look at the Giver and not the gift
-maybe God is asking us to look at the blessor and not the blessing
-maybe God is asking us to look at His Face and not His hand
-we are all born in this world so that God can call us to Himself, he is our reward
Gods Promise in Waiting
2 Corinthians 12:7-10
7 or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me
from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to
torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said

to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christs
power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christs sake, I delight in weaknesses, in
insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I
am strong.

Song: Complete
Here I am O God
I bring this sacrifice
My open Heart
I offer up my life
.And I will be complete in you
That's why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
English Standard Version(2001)But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in
